Walk with Reindeer and try your luck at Gold Panning before the journey to Denali National Park, a six million acre wildlife refuge surrounding Mount Denali, the tallest mountain in North America. The park is home to an abundance of wildlife including bears, caribou, Dall sheep, gray wolves and moose.Visit an Iditarod Dog Kennel and Ride the World Famous Alaska Railroad to the quaint community of Talkeetna followed by the journey south to Seward to board the Silversea cruise ship.

DAY 1

Arrive Fairbanks

On arrival at Fairbanks International Airport you are met by the local Silversea Cruises representative and transferred to the Pikes Waterfront Hotel. If your flight is scheduled to arrive in the morning, please be aware that the hotel’s official check-in time is 3:00 p.m. You might wish to consider reserving an additional night to insure immediate occupancy upon arrival.

Lunch and dinner are at your own expense. Overnight at the Pikes Waterfront Hotel.

DAY 2

Fairbanks

After breakfast at the hotel enjoy a tour of the Golden Heart City of Fairbanks. This morning, enjoy a special stop to visit the Running Reindeer Ranch for a guided walking tour. Walk alongside these loveable creatures before trying your luck at gold panning located in the family owned Gold Daughters camp. While onsite, step back in time for an exclusive look at prehistoric fossils found in the abandoned Gold Fields around Fairbanks.

Dinner this evening is at a local restaurant. Overnight at the Pikes Waterfront Hotel.

DAY 3

Denali

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and travel aboard your deluxe motorcoach to Denali National Park. Join with other travelers from around the world on the fully-guided Tundra Wilderness Tour; you’ll get an ongoing informational talk from your driver/guide, along with wildlife spotting and spectacular scenery. If the weather cooperates, you may even see the majestic summit of Mount Denali. A box lunch is included. Watch for moose between headquarters and Savage Campground and look for caribou anywhere above tree line. If you’re lucky, Mount Denali may make its first appearance around Mile 9.As you ride over high mountain passes you’ll want to keep an eye out for Dall sheep or bears on the mountainsides.

Return back to the hotel, the balance of the day is at your leisure. Enjoy dinner on your own this evening either at the hotel or venture off into town. Overnight at the Grand Denali Lodge at Denali National Park.

DAY 4

Denali/Talkeetna

After breakfast this morning, visit a local Dog Kennel to learn more about Alaska’s state sport of Dog Mushing and meet the canine athletes. This afternoon, board the World Famous Alaska Railroad for a journey on the Glass Domed Railcars to the town of Talkeetna. Seating is upstairs in the Dome with meals served downstairs in the dining area. Lunch is included on board the train. Upon arrival in Talkeetna, enjoy a special reception with a local guest speaker about climbing Mt. Denali.

Dinner is at your leisure. Overnight at the Talkeetna Alaska Lodge.

DAY 5

Anchorage/Seward/Embarkation

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast this morning and then board your motorcoach for the journey south to Anchorage. Meet your fellow Silversea cruisers and ride the exclusive Grandview Cruise Train to Seward where the onboard crew await your arrival.

Lunch is on your own. Light snacks and beverages are available for purchase onboard the train. The staff and crew are looking forward to welcoming you aboard.
