Discover the picturesque beauty and history of the Costa Smeralda during this half-day excursion to Baja Sardinia and Porto Cervo, and a visit to an ancient archaeological site. The Costa Smeralda area is a popular tourist destination in northern Sardinia with white sand beaches, golf clubs and exclusive hotels, the area has drawn celebrities, business leaders and other affluent visitors.

Coastal Drive and Archaeological Site

Depart the pier for the scenic, approximate 45-minute drive to the archaeological site of Nuraghe La Prisgiona.

En route, proceed along the panoramic Mediterranean coastline and through small villages surrounded by natural granite peaks.

Nuraghe La Prisgiona, also known as 'Tholos Nuraghe', features a false dome cover that is rather unusual for this region of Gallura. During your guided tour, see a few of the site's approximately 90 ancient huts and visit the courtyard, which features a well over 23 feet (seven metres) deep.


Baja Sardinia and Porto Cervo

Next, re-board your coach and drive to the resort village of Baja Sardinia, built after the tourist boom on the Emerald Coast, or 'Costa Smeralda'. From here, your tour continues with a drive to Porto Cervo, the heart of the Costa Smeralda. Upon arrival enjoy a relaxing guided tour on the Trolley Train of Porto Cervo, and then a short free time some free time is made available to explore your surroundings and browse the elegant shops at your leisure.


Following your visit, return to the coach parking area and re-board your coach for the approximate 45-minute return drive to Olbia.

Discover Old Sardinia

Experience the ancient culture and traditions of Sardinia as you head up into the hills to the old provincial capital of Tempio and its neighboring villages. To really understand Sardinian culture, you need to venture into the interior. We will climb up into the hills, passing through authentic villages with dense cork forests, typical of the Gallura region. Our first stop is Tempio, one of the oldest towns on the island which dates to 1173.


Hidden away in the depths of the Gallura area is a small picturesque village that by preserving and enhancing their ancestral traditions has become an attractive tourist destination, In Aggius, we visit the wonderful Ethnographic Museum, that tell of the history, culture and traditions of this area. Each room is filled with old furniture, weaved carpets and handmade fabrics with their unique designs, which date back to medieval times and still used nowadays.


Before to drive back to the ship, sweeten your experience with a traditional dessert and a glass of wine in the courtyard of the museum surrounded by native plants and officinal herbs.

Golf Tour at Pevero Golf Club

Enjoy three and a half hours to yourself on this rare course situated amid the sumptuous Mediterranean vegetation, the course at Pevero Golf Club boasts breathtaking panoramic vistas of Costa Smeralda and its crystalline waters.


This 9-hole course gives players a fine opportunity to stretch their legs and play around rock formations, natural ponds, and enjoy the enlivening aromas of local juniper, myrtle, and Arbutus trees (also called strawberry trees) wafting on the sea breeze. The senses come alive here, making this golf center a magical place. Afterwards, enjoy a delicious lunch in this pearl of Costa Smeralda.


At the conclusion of your game, take some time for lunch at the Pevero Golf Club before returning to the ship.

Olbia, Natural Pools of Molara, Swimming and Snorkelling

Depart from the pier with a short walk to the embarkation point. Upon arrival, you will embark on your Luxury yacht (6 guests maximum) in order to start your adventure along the coast towards the protected areas. Leaving Olbia, navigate around the natural pools of Molara, named after its rounded shape. Here, in the southwestern part of the island of Molara, between Punta l'Aia and Cala Spagnola, is a body of water called Piscine di Molara, featuring natural pools with white sand, turquoise sea and fascinating rocks. Upon arrival, an approximately 45-minute stop is made for guided swimming and snorkelling in these crystal-clear waters.


Marine Protected Area, Tavolara Island, Granite Cliffs

The Marine Protected Area encompasses the coast of north-eastern Sardinia, and includes the islands of Tavolara, Molara and Molarotto. Leaving the natural pools of Molara, continue on to Tavolara, the smallest kingdom in the world. Tavolara is a limestone and granite mountain that rises from the sea approximately 1,837 feet (about 560 meters) in height, and is approximately 2.5 miles (about four kilometres) long. It is characterized by impervious rocks, with an imposing and dizzying verticality and splendid chromatic tones; the green of juniper, rosemary and mastic, in combination with the blue-and-emerald-green surrounding waters.


Free Time, Island Stroll, Swimming and Snorkelling, Spalmatore di Terra, Tavolara Cliffs, Photo Stop

Upon arrival at Tavolara, approximately two hours of free time is made available to dine in the restaurant or sip a cold drink at the bar at your own expense, stroll about the island, and/or enjoy guided swimming and snorkelling. Following your free time, embark the boat and ride to the south-eastern area. See Spalmatore di Terra, which is equipped with a marina, refreshment points and a small group of houses, and adjacent to enchanting beaches bordered by sea lilies. A panoramic photo stop is made at the Tavolara Cliffs before commencing the approximately 40-minute ride back to the pier. Upon arrival, return to the ship on-foot.

Off-Road Safari in Sardinia

Experience the panoramic beauty of Sardinia in a unique and exciting new way during this half-day, off-road sightseeing excursion. Travel to San Pantaleo and the Emerald Coast and finally to the beach for free time.

San Pantaleo and Church of Santa Chiara

Depart the pier in a Land Rover 4x4 off-road vehicle for the scenic drive along gentle hills and winding roads en route to the charming village of San Pantaleo. Upon arrival, a photo stop is made to admire the sweeping splendor of the valley beyond. Afterward, re-board your 4x4 and proceed to the small Church of Santa Chiara. A stop is made here for Sardinian snacks and refreshments amidst your pristine natural surroundings.

Emerald Coast and beach

Next, your journey continues with a drive to the famous Emerald Coast, or 'Costa Smeralda'. Then you will enjoy some free time on one of the most beautiful beaches of the Costa Smeralda area, to relax or to swim in the Sardinia blue waters.

At the conclusion of your visit, re-board your Land Rover 4x4 and commence the approximate one-hour drive back to the ship in Olbia.

The main town of Porto Cervo is home to upscale hotels and shops. Perched on a hill above the resort town, the whitewashed Stella Maris Church houses a painting by El Greco. Upon arrival at the parking area, walk to the Porto Cervo town centre and begin your self-guided walking tour.
