Advanced, airy and elevated, Singapore is a spectacular, futuristic vision of utopian city life. A healthy population of almost six million call it home, but this is a city designed with space to breathe, and gorgeous outdoor parks, massive indoor greenhouses and beautiful recreational spaces spread between the City of Gardens' skyscrapers and soaring structures. Once a quiet fishing village, now a glistening island city-state and an international beacon of science, education and technology. View more

Singapore is almost intimidatingly clean - and the hyper-efficient public transport system whips residents and visitors across the city's neighbourhoods in a heartbeat. Glorious fountains and audacious skyscrapers loom up - nodding to traditional feng shui beliefs - and putting on dazzling illuminated displays after dark. The lush green botanical gardens are a spectacular UNESCO World Heritage Site, covering 52 hectares and decorated with impressive colourful orchids. Or breathe in more of the freshest air by heading up to wander the canopy strung bridges of MacRitchie Reservoir Park. Head for the iconic Marina Bay - a landmark of the city crowned by three interconnected towers, which watch out over island sprinkled waters. Jaunt between Little India and the atmospheric Chinatown in minutes, where beautiful temples - like the Chinese Thian Hock Keng Temple and Hindu Sri Mariamman Temple add rich cultural intrigue. Singapore's cuisine is a mouthwatering fusion of its Indian, Chinese, Indonesian, and Malay influences, taking and enhancing the best of each. Enjoy dishes in towering restaurants, or toast the glowing skyline with the city's eponymous gin-soaked cocktail - a Singapore Sling.

Arts & Feng Shui of the Orient

Feng shui is an ancient Chinese art of creating harmony and balance in life to promote business and one's general well-being. Discover why this practice, dating back thousands of years, is very much alive in cosmopolitan Singapore during this half-day, Silver Shore Collection exploration.

Depart the pier for the 30-minute drive to the city and your first stop.

Star Vista

Here in this contemporary shopping mall, you will discover the superb futuristic architecture, showcasing and preserving feng shui elements as a core principle in overall design

Marina Barrage

This is Singapore's 15th reservoir, which is criticized by Feng Shui experts. Unlike the other reservoirs, Marina Barrage is located in the city centre to keep out seawater from Kallang Basin and Marina Bay. It re-directs now the flow of the Singapore River and Kallang River into the man-made Marina Bay. However, the possible impact of the Feng Shui of the area was neglected.

Suntec City

During your last stop at Suntec City, Singapore's main exhibition and convention centre designed in the shape of an open hand. You will be able to view the largest fountain in the world. Understand why water or "shui" symbolises wealth and fortune as you listen to tales of people who have found success after touching the water at The Fountain of Wealth.

Chinese Massage, Reflexology & Herbs

Discover the many health benefits of Chinese massage, reflexology and herbal medicine during this relaxing and informative, half-day sightseeing excursion.

Singapore, Reflexology Shop, Foot Massage

Depart the pier for the scenic, approximately 30-minute drive to the Reflexology Shop. Reflexology rests on the ancient Chinese belief in qi (pronounced 'chee'), or 'vital energy'. According to this belief, qi flows through each person. When a person feels stressed, their body blocks qi, which can cause an imbalance in the body that leads to illness. Reflexology aims to keep qi flowing through the body, keeping it balanced and disease-free. In Chinese medicine, different body parts correspond with different pressure points on the body. Reflexologists use maps of these points in the feet, hands and ears to determine where they should apply pressure. They believe their touch sends energy flowing through a person's body until it reaches the area in need of healing. Upon arrival, experience this process during a 30-minute foot massage. During your massage, your therapist explains each pressure point.

Chinese Medical Hall, Pulse Examination

Next, drive to a sinseh shop (Chinese Medical Hall), where trained physicians diagnose one's ailments by feeling their pulse. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is becoming globally-recognised. One of the basic tenets of TCM is that the body's qi (vital energy) circulates through channels called meridians, which have branches connected to bodily organs and functions. During your visit, a trained physician feels your pulse to help determine any ailments you may have.

Chinese Herbs and Medications

In addition to TCM, learn about how the usage of Chinese herbs and medications is currently growing in popularity in Singapore. An evolving trend in the field of medical treatment is the concept of 'East-meets-West'. The eastern form of medication has a long history, and is fortified by the knowledge and experience that has been accumulated by our forefathers over many years. Western medication is advanced, and equipped, with the latest developments through continual research and development. Therefore, the fusion of East-and-West is certainly a powerful combination that is set to bring tremendous benefits to all who seek this form of medical treatment. Following your tour and some free time to browse the Chinese herbs and medication, re-board your coach and commence the short drive back to the pier.

Following your tour, some free time is made available to explore the urban farm at your leisure. The Way We Live In Singapore

Observe and experience the typical Singapore lifestyle - one that is uniquely different from those found in the rest of Asia - on this half-day informative tour.

Board the coach and leave the pier. Your excursion begins with a visit to the Singapore City Gallery for an overview of how urban planning (including conservation, architecture, civil engineering and building) shapes the way its people live, work and play. Get a bird's-eye view of downtown Singapore from a finely detailed architectural model.

Travel to Toa Payoh, a first-generation New Town built in the late 1960s to solve the acute shortage of proper housing in Singapore. Walk through the Housing Development Board (HDB) Gallery to view a typical layout of the various towns, along with models of the various types of flats in which Singaporeans live. Today, 87% of the population lives in a HDB flat.

Continue on with a stroll through the town centre, where you can mingle with the local people and indulge in a bit of neighbourhood shopping in the many shops selling all sorts of merchandise. View the many communal facilities that make the town self-contained, including a bus interchange' sub-way station, schools, clinics, community centres, parks, a sport stadium, an indoor sports hall, and a swimming pool complex. See the many places of worship existing in close proximity to one another.

Next, take the local bus drive to Bishan, a second generation New Town, designed and built in early 1990's to accommodate the lifestyle of a more affluent and wealthier population.

There are many obvious contrasts between the first- and second-generation New Towns. The later blocks of second-generation flats are of a more contemporary design, and nearly twice the height of the first-generation flats. The town centre is occupied by a large shopping mall that caters to the shopping and entertainment needs of the whole community. Many of the communal facilities are located near to the shopping mall.

Your final stop is to Singapore latest downtown Icon - The Marina Barrage. Built across the mouth of the Marina Channel, the Marina Barrage creates Singapore's 15th reservoir, and the first in the heart of the city. With a catchment area of 24,700 acres (10,000 hectares), or one-sixth the size of Singapore, the Marina catchment is the island's largest and most urbanised catchment. Together with two other new reservoirs, the Marina Reservoir will boost Singapore's water catchment from half to two-thirds of the country's land area.

A 10-minute drive returns you to the pier.

National Gallery

Housed in the former Supreme Court, the UOB Southeast Asia Gallery presents the history of Southeast Asian art through artistic impulses shared across the region. The UOB Southeast Asia Gallery shares a compelling story of human culture, as seen through a region that has been the meeting point of major civilizations, religions, colonial powers, and the focus of struggles towards national independence and modernization. The Gallery explores four main themes critical to the art of this region: Authority and Anxiety, Imagining Country and Self, Manifesting the Nation and Redefining Art.

Raffles Landing Site

A brief stop is then made at the site where Thomas Stamford Raffles is believed to have first landed in Singapore in 1819. An imposing statue commemorates the site.

Riverboat Ride

A ride along the Singapore River in one of the colourful riverboats makes for a fun-filled experience. In Raffles' days, these vessels were used to transport goods. Today, they are a popular way to experience a kaleidoscope of historic river images, including the 'godown' warehouses and the gracious buildings of the old waterfront set against the skyline of the new business district.
