Set on the dazzling Adriatic, where the Krka River opens out into the blue, island-peppered waters, Šibenik is a stone-clad city that oozes Dalmatian medieval charm. Gorgeous Krka National Park gushes with famously picturesque waterfalls close by, while the World Heritage Sites of Croatia’s oldest native town have endless stories to tell. View more

Rising from the shadow of popular neighbours Split and Zadar, Šibenik is successfully establishing itself as an unmissable Dalmatian city thanks to its timeless grace and 30 hidden churches and monasteries - which ring their bells above a wash of terracotta roofs. Dominating the tight streets of the charming old town - where ice cream vendors spoon out fruity flavours, and footsteps rattle along stone streets - is the magnificent Cathedral St. James UNESCO World Heritage site. Taking more than a century to construct, it is built from stone in a Gothic-Renaissance style and adorned with 71 sculptured heads - each displaying its own personality. Look closely, to notice the bullet holes embedded in the door – reminders of the fierce fighting that raged here, during the Croatian War of Independence. St. Michael’s Fortress stands on a hill above the city, providing the perfect viewpoint to see Šibenik rolling towards the stunning archipelago, which punctuates the turquoise Adriatic. Part of the fortress is now used as an open-air stage, forming an ethereal venue for performances. St. Nicholas Fortress is another UNESCO protected site and was built where the monastery of St. Nicholas once stood. Further afield, the beautiful old town of Trogir is close by, along with the Roman ruins of Salona.

Ancient Salona & Town of Trogir

Marvel at the ancient beauty and splendid landmarks of Croatia during this scenic, half-day tour of Split and Trogir.

Salona Ruins

Depart the pier for the scenic, approximately 1.25-hour drive to Salona. Upon arrival, a guided walking tour explores Croatia's largest Roman excavation. View fascinating ancient remains of amphitheatres, early-Christian churches, burial grounds, and pools.

Kastela Riviera and Trogir

Next, re-board your coach for a drive along the panoramic Kastela Riviera to Trogir, an UNESCO World Heritage Site. Trogir is situated on a small island between the mainland and larger island of Ciovo, and connected to the mainland via a bridge. Stone houses, palaces, churches, monasteries, towers, walls, and green parks adorn the entire island.

Trogir Tour and Cathedral of St. Lawrence

Upon arrival in Trogir, take a guided stroll through the island's narrow streets. Along the way, visit the 13th-century Cathedral of St. Lawrence. Perhaps the finest example of sacral architecture in Croatia, the cathedral's three naves and semicircular apses dominate the entire town. Additional sites to be seen include the Town Loggia, Town Hall and Cipiko Palace.

Independent Exploration and Lunch

Following your walking tour, some time is made available for independent exploration before proceeding for lunch at a restaurant in Old Trogir. After lunch, re-board your coach and commence the approximately one-hour drive back to the pier.

Please note: This tour involves a moderate amount of walking for approximately 0.6 miles (about one kilometre), at times over uneven surfaces, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach and 100 steps in Salona. This tour is suitable for guests with limited mobility, but is not wheelchair-accessible. Lightweight, comfortable clothing, flat, closed-toe walking shoes and sun protection are recommended. The tour duration may vary depending upon local traffic conditions.

Hidden Dalmatia by Private Yacht

Indulge your senses with the picturesque little islands, towns and beaches along the Dalmatian Coast during this leisurely, full-day excursion via private yacht.

Šibenik, St. Ante Channel, Adriatic Coast, Primošten Town, Guided Tour, Church of St. George

Depart the pier aboard an approximately 52-foot (about 15.8-metre) luxury yacht for the scenic, approximately 45-minute ride through the St. Ante Channel. Further along the coastline, a stop is made at Primošten, a Croatian town situated on the Adriatic coast in southern Šibenik. Nestled on a little island linked by a bridge to the land, panoramic Primošten features stone houses and narrow, Mediterranean-style lanes, with many bays, islets and peninsulas. It is built on a hill, dominated by the parish Church of St. George. Following a short, guided walking tour of the island, embark your boat and continue on towards Zlarin Island.

Zlarin Island Walking Tour

Upon arrival, disembark your yacht and take a guided stroll through the narrow streets of Zlarin. Here, it is easy to recognize women who saved, and still wear, traditional island jewellery. Around mid-August, the "Farewell Coral Divers' manifestation is held in tribute to the 600-year-old tradition. Red coral is protected by law as precious in the Adriatic Sea. The first written references to coral hunts on the Adriatic date from the early-15th century, when the first of Zlarin's famous coral divers began removing coral from the sea and selling them to Naples and Sicily. After the fall of the Venetian Republic in 1797, control was established over the coral harvesting, and Zlarinians received the exclusive rights to harvest corals.

Zlarinka Coral Store, Sea Coral Workshop, Swimming, Krka River Estuary, Skradin Town, Lunch

During your walking tour of Zlarin, a stop is made at the coral store, Zlarinka, for a Sea Coral Workshop to learn how red coral is processed and manufactured. Following your tour of Zlarin, some free time is made available for sunbathing and swimming in the crystal-clear waters of the Adriatic Sea. Afterward, embark your yacht and head towards the Krka River estuary. Upon arrival, a stop is made in the town of Skradin for lunch at the Vidrovaca Tavern. After lunch, additional free time is made available for sunbathing, swimming and beachcombing. At the conclusion of your visit, embark your yacht and commence the approximately 30-minute cruise back to the pier.
