Count Preben Ahlefeldt-Laurvig will enthusiastically tell the exciting stories about Tranekaer and the Ahlefeldt family, spanning many generations and many centuries. Broholm's history dates back to 1326, when Absalom Johnsen of Ulfeldt, was lord of Broholm. After several generations of Ulfeldt genus had inhabited the castle, including the Count's Feud, also known as Denmark's last civil war (1533-36), where many old castles were razed to the ground, but where Broholm, thanks to its wide moats is spared, buys Otte Skeel estate in 1641. Today you will stay overnight at Broholm Castle.
Day 3 - Enjoy a leisurely mini cruise on the schooner Palnatoke, built in 1894 and now carefully restored. Sail the island dotted and scenic southern sea of Funen Island. Visit the fairytale like Egeskov Castle, dating back to 1554. Enjoy a guided tour of the historic rooms, enjoy some time in the park, take a closer look at the Vintage car Exhibition plus much more. Dinner at Ti Trin Ned is the merger of a strongly personal kitchen, considerations on sustainability - and a never-ending quest for the perfect, simple, varied and characteristic servings
Day 4 - Only two places in the world it is possible - Sydney and Middelfart. Enjoy the impressive views from the top of the old "Lillebaelt Bridge", when walking across it "high in the sky". Explore The Funen Village is a Danish open-air museum located in the Fruens Bøge district of Odense. It features 25 buildings from Funish villages, most of which date to the 18th and 19th century. You might know fairytales like The Little Mermaid, The Nightingale or Thumbelina? Visit the home town of Hans Christian Andersen, the world famous fairytale writer, including his Child hood home, museum, city walk etc.
Enjoy a dinner at the famous Country side Inn, Falsled Kro, recommended in the Michelin guide.
Day 5 - Return to Copenhagen for your onward flight home.
