Head off the beaten track to the Roseland Peninsula, an area of unspoiled natural beauty that has been the inspiration for numerous authors including Daphne DuMaurier and Rosamunde Pilcher.

After a short drive from Falmouth by coach, the Roseland is reached by the historic King Harry Ferry. Enjoy beautiful views of the Fal River and the clunk of the ferry's chains on the 10-minute journey across the water. Your visit to the Peninsula begins with St Just-in-Roseland, famous for its charming church which is set in magnificent gardens overflowing with subtropical shrubs and trees, in a delightful setting perched on the water's edge. Your journey continues to the idyllic old world fishing harbour of St Mawes, where there will be time for you to explore at leisure or relax in this delightful Cornish village. Pretty St Mawes served as the setting for the popular television series Poldark and features a picturesque harbour protected by St Mawes Castle, the coastal fortress built by Henry VIII.

Reboard the coach and continue on to Veryan - a delightful little village famous for its 19th century thatched and slate roofed roundhouses, originally built by Reverend Trist to eliminate corners where the devil can hide.

It's then time to make the journey back to Falmouth, passing charming Cornish villages and Truro, Cornwall's only city.

Cardigan and the National Wool Museum

Travel across Wales to discover one on the oldest Welsh traditions. After a panoramic drive through the glorious countryside, arrive in the small village of Dre-fach Felindre situated in the Teifi Valley. Once the heart of the booming woolen industry, the mill still produces a range of products such as blankets, shawls and socks. Learn the history and process of the wool through working machinery, achieved materials and the textile gallery. After a guided tour, enjoy a trio of different welsh cakes before travelling to the historic town of Cardigan.

Originally one of the main ports of Wales, throughout history Cardigan was integral to Wales' shipping industry as they received goods from all over the world. Unfortunately, the estuary began to silt up which stopped access for large vessels however it is still a beautiful bay. After an orientation walk, explore Cardigan at leisure. Wander the high street to find local shops and restaurants or walk to the waterfront and visit Cardigan Castle. Finally meet up with your guide and travel back to Fishguard port.

Exclusive Director’s Tour of Picton Castle

Depart the pier and drive through the glorious Welsh countryside to Picton Castle. Set in 40 acres of magnificent gardens, Picton Castle is perhaps the most unusual ancient building in Britain with half of the building designed as a fortified manor house and the other half a fully developed medieval castle. Built in the 13th century by Sir John Wogan, the castle is still the family home of his descendants, carrying the name of Philipps since the 15th century, although they no longer reside here.

Arriving at the castle you will drive down the main drive, once used by her Majesty the Queen & his Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh for their visit in 2014. Enjoy an exclusive "Director's Tour" which will include the history of the castle, family and a detailed look at the collections. Experience the rare opportunity of visiting areas of the castle not normally open to the public. Begin the visit with a class of sparkling wine and canapes while the director gives a welcome talk. Explore the Great Hall and the nearby rooms while discussing the castle with the director before having some free time.

Picton Castle is also home to some of the most beautiful woodland gardens and grounds in West Wales. During your visit you may like to take a stroll beneath some of the largest and oldest trees in Wales and discover the woodland walks, ferns and the abundant feast of wild flowers that blend with unusual woodland shrubs from all corners of the world. Perhaps admire the rare species of Rhododendrons and visit the Walled Garden which is an enchanting riot of colour in the summer months with its elegant fountain, rose strewn arches and medicinal herbs all labelled with their remedies. Alternatively, you may prefer to simply relax in this truly decadent property before rejoining your coach for the return journey to the pier and your ship.

Pembroke Castle and Tenby

Visiting the beautiful and historic southern coast of Pembrokeshire, this tour goes across country to the mediaeval masterpiece of Pembroke Castle, set on a ridge overlooking the Milford Haven Waterway as well as driving along the coast to the pretty seaside resort of Tenby.

From Fishguard, drive south through the rolling farmland of Pembrokeshire via the Valley of the Western Cleddau and the town of Haverfordwest. Arrive at the charming walled town of Pembroke and Pembroke Castle that dominates the town. Here you will visit this mighty fortress with your guide. Its long and fascinating history goes back to 1093 and Pembroke Castle is the birthplace of Henry Tudor, father to the infamous Henry VIII and grandfather of Elizabeth I. Your tour will take you through the endless passages, tunnels and stairways of this largely intact castle and learn about the medieval lifestyle in the exhibition room also including a number of exciting tableaux. Another highlight of the day is the visit of the Keep which, with its outstanding features and architecture, offers tremendous views that you can enjoy from its top.

Following the coastline, continue south to the historic town of Tenby. With its own ruined castle and town walls dating to Norman times, Tenby was an important stronghold, but is now more famous for its three beautiful beaches and safe, clean bathing water. After lunch in a local quality hotel, free time is allowed here to explore the narrow shopping streets that wind down the hill to the seafront.

After this pleasant visit, you will head back to the contrasting North Pembrokeshire driving past the lively and attractive market town Narberth, this town of the "Little England Beyond Wales" located on the historical Landsker Line that once divided the Welsh speaking and English speaking areas of West Wales. Continue your journey back to the ship through some stunning rural sceneries with the pretty Presili Hills in the distance.

Pembrokeshire Coast and National Park

Departing the pier, begin your scenic drive heading south through the rolling farmland of Pembrokeshire and through the Valley of the Western Cleddau and the town of Haverfordwest, toward Newgale for a breathtaking view of the coastline.

Your scenic drive continues skirting the National Park, through prosperous farmland to St David's - Britain's smallest City. St David's would be no more than a village were it not for the fabulous cathedral that lies at its heart. Join your guide for a brief stroll around the city and admire the exterior of the cathedral before returning to Fishguard, once a bustling port to the west of the pretty Preseli Hills.

Enjoy a short stop at Goodwick which was just a cluster of fishermen's cottages until the arrival of the railway a century ago for a photo opportunity with views up the coast towards Dinas Head before returning to your ship.

Sea Kayaking along the Pembrokeshire Coast

This morning discover the beautiful Pembrokeshire coast from a different perspective as you take to the water in your Kayak.

With your local instructor enjoy the peace and tranquillity of gliding through amazing rock gardens and paddling through quiet harbours and sheltered bays where sea caves, secluded beaches and high cliff can be explored. For the more adventurous, if there's a swell around you can play at "rock-hopping" with the waves and rocks!

After the session, you will be dropped back to the pier.

Silver Shore Privato - Fishguard by Private Van with /Guide - Half Day

Explore FIshguard at your leisure during your half-day (4-Hour) sightseeing tour via private van. Customise your own itinerary or choose to see an overview of the area's highlights.

Depart the pier with your English-speaking guide in an air-conditioned van and discover the city and surrounding areas at your own pace. Your exclusive tour concludes back at the pier.

St David’s Head and Carn Llidi Hike

Begin the circular walk from the glorious sandy sweep of Whitesands Bay, a curving, mile-long expanse of flat sands considered to be one of the finest beaches in the country. As soon as you join the coastal path you will see the site of St Patrick's Chapel. Although there are no visible remains it was built on the spot where St Patrick originally embarked for Ireland. Here sea voyagers used to pray for a safe journey and offer thanks for their arrival.

Follow the path which steady climbs uphill to bring you to the end of St David's Head, a wild and often windswept peninsula. Admire the superb views across Whitesands Bay to Ramsey Sound and along the lovely bays of Porth Lleuog and Porthmelgan and to the rocky profile of Carn Llidi.

Continue along this wild stretch of coast towards Carn Llidi. Whilst difficult to see amid the rocky terrain, the 5000-year-old burial chamber of Coetan Arthur lies below the wall of crags. The views soon open up along the north coast of Pembrokeshire and then across the flat country to St David's Cathedral and the coast of St Bride's Bay.

There will be an opportunity to climb to the summit of Carn Llidi (595 ft) before heading round to Whitesands Bay where your walk will end. The path to the summit is rough but well-defined and at the top you are rewarded with magnificent views that, on a clear day, extend to the Wicklow hills in Ireland.

St David’s Smallest City in Britain

Depart the pier and drive through the beautiful natural landscape that Wales is so famous for, and arrive at the city of St David's with its fabulous cathedral that lies at its heart. Built hidden in a depression below the town square in the hope that Norse invaders would pass without noticing it, this 12th century cathedral is magnificent and steeped in antiquity. The floor slopes three feet upwards and the pillars lean drunkenly (though not precariously!) as the result of an earthquake in 1248. This cathedral is the only one in the United Kingdom in which the reigning monarch has a permanently reserved pew.

Afterwards enjoy time with your guide exploring this delightful city and see the extensive ruins of the 12th century Bishop's Palace (outside view only), before returning through the scenic Welsh landscape back to the ship.
