Bunbury Dolphin Discovery

Embark on a cruise centred in the protected waters of Koombana Bay which offers an exciting chance to view the inquisitive bottlenose dolphins in their natural environment.

Dolphin Eco Cruise, Koombana Bay, Bottlenose Dolphins

Depart the pier for approximately 60-minute drive to the city of Bunbury, renowned for its wild and friendly bottlenose dolphins. Upon arrival to the Dolphin Discovery Centre, embark on a 90-minute Dolphin Eco Cruise within Koombana Bay. The vessel will provide an excellent viewing platform designed to get you as close as possible to the dolphins - without getting your feet wet! The team will introduce you to the local Bottlenose Dolphins as they interact in their natural environment. They can be seen frolicking, playing, sleeping and feeding during the cruise and the informative commentary from the skipper will keep you updated throughout. Dolphin sightings are very likely however; they are wild animals so their location, behaviour and proximity to the vessel will vary from day to day.

Dolphin Discovery Interpretive Centre, Guided Tour & Free Time

After the cruise, join a guided tour of the new Discovery Centre that opened in December 2018. The Interpretive Centre showcases an expanded range of themed fish and coral aquariums and an amazing 360-degree Digital Dolphinarium, as well as an interpretation of the Koombana Bay environment and its history - geological, indigenous, marine and contemporary. The tour will be followed by some free time before it is time for a return drive to Busselton.

In 1999 Dunsborough was voted the state's best tourist destination and in 2013 awarded the Top Tourism Award for Population Under 5,000. Here, enjoy some free time to explore the local town's boutiques or soak up stunning beach views.


Geographe Bay, Castle Rock, Meelup Beach and Eagle Bay, Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse

Continue driving along Geographe Bay to discover the glassy waters and tranquil coves of Castle Rock, Meelup Beach and Eagle Bay before arriving at Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse. Marvel at the stunning views from the base of the lighthouse, activated in 1904. The lighthouse is a 20-metre (66 ft) high cylindrical tower built of limestone that still uses its original first order Fresnel lens <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fresnel_lens> made by Chance Brothers <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chance_Brothers>. Passing the vineyards and breweries along Caves Road, a stop at Canal Rocks offers a chance to see ancient granite formations that have eroded in spectacular geological fashion.

Grand Voyage Collection: Margaret River Cape to Cape Walk

Experience the beauty of Cape Naturaliste and parts of the Cape to Cape track during this this Grand Voyage Collection outdoors adventure. The hike traverses over some of the most distinct granite headlands on the coast, offering stunning vistas of the picturesque west coast.

Depart the pier and transfer to the Old Dunsborough Boat Ramp and start your hike. Walk to the magical white sands of Meelup Beach where a local Wardandi Elder will provide a Welcome to Country ceremony followed by an afternoon tea with seasonal indigenous bush foods.

The complex coastal heath vegetation found here is part of the internationally recognized South West Biodiversity Hotspot, where thousands of unique endemic plants are found. Venture on to the Cape Naturaliste lighthouse, activated in 1904. Depart the pier for approximately 60-minute drive to Cape Mentelle Winery, named by the French 'Baudin Expedition' which charted the coast of Western Australia in 1801. They named the Cape after two notable French scientists, geographer Edmund and his cartographer brother Francois-Simon Mentelle, who lived in Paris in the early 1700's. Venture behind the scenes on a guided tour to discover how their wines are made both in the vineyard and the winery. Your guide will walk you through the vineyard, the red cellar and the barrel hall before it is time to taste some of the beautiful wines. The current release wines will be tasted in the cellar door before continuing to the next winery.

Depart the pier for approximately 40-minute drive to Ngilgi Cave, an exquisitely decorated cave and a home to stunning stalactites and stalagmites.
