Nosy Be, Speedboat-Ride, Nosy Komba, Fisherman's Village, Black Lemur Sanctuary
Depart the pier aboard a speedboat for the scenic, approximately 40-minute ride to Nosy Komba. En route, cross the east coast of Nose Be along the Lokobe Evergreen Forest. Upon arrival at Ampangoriana Village, the capital of Nosy Komba, take a guided stroll through the fisherman's village, which is famous for its arts and sakalava scene, and meet some of the friendly locals.
Black Lemur Sanctuary, Lemur-Viewing and Feeding
Next, a guided visit is made at the Black Lemur Sanctuary. Here, females are brown and males are black, and they live in the wild. During your tour, observe the animals climbing and resting in the trees. They are quite friendly, and sometimes jump onto visitors' arms or shoulders. Bananas are available so you can feed the lemurs. The animals are under the protection of the villagers as a tourist attraction, and provide a great deal of support to local economy of the island and its surrounds.
Tanikely Marine Reserve, Underwater Park, Coral Reefs, Colourful Fish, Sea Turtles
Leaving the Black Lemur Sanctuary, embark your speedboat and head to the Nosy Tanikely Marine Reserve, a small island famous for its crystal-clear water and coral reefs. The Underwater Park here is a splendid aquarium where an abundance of colourful fish, including parrot fish, angelfish, marlin and sea turtles, co-exist peacefully.
Snorkelling, Coral Beds, Tropical Fish, Marine Life, Swimming, Beachcombing, Seafood Lunch
Upon arrival and after a wet landing, approximately 80 minutes of free time is made available here to enjoy the island at your leisure. During a guided snorkelling session, explore the coral beds, tropical fish and marine life that thrive in this undersea paradise. You may also take a refreshing swim in the crystal-clear waters and stroll along the beautiful beach, or simply relax with a cool, refreshing beverage whilst soaking up the warm, tropical sun. A seafood buffet lunch is served on the beach. Following your visit, embark the speedboat and commence the approximately 30-minute ride back to the pier.
Please note: This tour involves a moderate amount of walking for approximately 547 yards (500 metres), at times over uneven, natural and sandy surfaces, with a few steps to negotiate to embark/disembark the boat and manoeuvre in/out of the boat, and wet landings at Nosy Komba and Nosy Tanikely. This tour is recommended for guests that are in good physical condition, and can swim in water too deep too stand. This tour is not suitable for pregnant guests, guest with neck and/or back problems, guests with heart and/or respiratory conditions, guests prone to seasickness, guests with limited mobility, and guests who utilise a wheelchair. Guests are advised to wear a swimsuit under a cover-up with beach or water shoes, and bring sun protection, a towel and change of clothing from the ship. Guests wishing to snorkel are invited to bring their own snorkelling equipment; snorkelling equipment is provided for guests who do not have snorkelling equipment, but must be requested at least 48 hours in advance at the on board Shore Concierge Desk. Waterproof cameras are highly recommended. Water and soft drinks are provided; alcoholic beverages are at the expense of each guest. Guests must be at least 21 years old to be served alcoholic beverages. Although frequently encountered on this type of tour, fish and marine life sightings are not guaranteed.
