Combine the classic "Big Three" attractions of Iceland - Gullfoss Waterfall, the geothermal phenomena at Geysir and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Thingvellir National Park. Add to this a relaxing day in the Blue Lagoon natural geothermal spa in the middle of a beautiful lava field.
DAY 1 - ARRIVE REYKJAVIK / BLUE LAGOON
Upon disembarking in Reykjavik, the Icelandic Silversea representative greets and directs you to your transportation for some relaxing time at the Blue Lagoon natural geothermal spa located in the middle of a beautiful lava field. Drive through Reykjavik's suburbs before entering into the surreal lava landscape of the Reykjanes Peninsula. The water of the lagoon is 37-39 degrees centigrade (98 - 102 Fahrenheit) mineral rich and reputed for its healing properties. The blue colour and the high lava wall surrounding the Lagoon create quite a unique atmosphere. Dressing rooms and showers are provided for men and women separately. For hygienic purposes, it is expected (in line with local customs) to take a shower without swimwear before entering the Lagoon.
Following sometime on your own to explore the shops and stop for lunch, start your panoramic city tour of Reykjavic. Highlights include the Pearl - renowned for its dramatic architecture and cutting-edge exhibits, Hallgrimskirkja Church, the city's main landmark and the Höfdi House, best known as the location for the 1986 summit meeting of presidents Ronald Reagan and Mikhail Gorbatsjov. Return to the hotel, as the evening is yours to relax.

DAY 2 - REYKJAVIK / GOLDEN CIRCLE

Leaving Thingvellir you continue to the Geysir hot spring area. Here you will be surrounded by hissing springs and other geothermal phenomena. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. After lunch continue your drive to Gullfoss Waterfall. The "Golden Waterfall" is the most famous of the country's many waterfalls where the river Hvita drops 96 feet into two falls, creating an awesome spectacle. Continue on to the Kerid Crater. Iceland is dotted with volcanic craters, Kerid is one of the more dramatic ones. Created by an explosion followed by implosion of its cone, it now has a lake at is bottom.
