Day 1 - Debark your ship and start a detailed panoramic tour of London, taking you past some of London's most famous landmarks. Depart Greenwich and drive into central London along the embankment, first entering Trafalgar Square. Travel along to Buckingham Palace and Hyde Park Corner then onto Piccadilly Circus. Enter Parliament Square where you will see the London Eye, Houses of Parliament, Big Ben and Westminster Abbey. Pass Haymarket and the West End. Enjoy lunch and free time at a central location to explore the sights independently or perhaps enjoy some shopping time. This evening enjoy a welcome reception and dinner at The Langham Hotel.
Day 2 - After breakfast, drive through the rolling English countryside to the historic city and international seat of learning, Oxford. You will enjoy a walking tour around this historic university town. You will see many fine examples of medieval architecture and the numerous colleges that make up the famous university, the oldest in the English-speaking world. Start by visiting Trinity College, Radcliffe Square, Church of St Mary the Virgin, Bodleian Library and some more interesting places.
Day 3 - After breakfast, join your fellow explorers on a transfer to nearby Stratford-upon-Avon. Famously the birth place of England's greatest writer, William Shakespeare. On a walking tour of the town you will see Shakespeare's birthplace and the family home of his wife, Anne Hathaway, the Shakespeare Exhibition and its outstanding gardens as well as the Holy Trinity Church where the Bard is buried as well as passing by Nash's House and Halls Croft. Also on the banks of the river Avon is the world famous Royal Shakespeare Theatre, home of the RSC. Depart Stratford-upon-Avon and enjoying a scenic drive through the Cotswolds to Bampton. Visit the charming village of Bampton where the village scenes of Downton Abbey are filmed and enjoy lunch at the Swan Inn in Swinbrook which also featured in Downton Abbey. (The Swan Inn was where Lady Sybil and Branson stayed whilst planning their elopement!) After lunch enjoy free time in Bampton before returning to Oxford. This evening dine at the Michelin starred restaurant, The Oxford Kitchen. It is recognized as one of the finest restaurants in Oxford for its fine modern British cuisine and its menu is built around the inspired creations of Executive Chef Paul Welburn.
Day 4 - Depart Oxford for the quaint town of Burford, considered to be the southern 'gateway' to the Cotswolds. This beautiful old Cotswold town, with its broad high street lined with dignified houses, ancient stone cottages and shops that seem little changed since Tudor times, slopes down from the high Wolds to the willow fringed River Windrush and offers glorious views over the open countryside.
Continue your tour to Bourton-on-the-Water which has been described as the 'Little Venice' of the Cotswolds. Not far away is Stow-on-the-Wold, a delightful and historic market town and perhaps the best known of the smaller Cotswolds towns; it is situated atop of a 700 foot high hill and at a junction of eight major roads. Enjoy lunch and free time in Stow before continuing to the magnificent Blenheim Palace, home of the Dukes of Marlborough and the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill where you will have a private guided tour of the State Rooms. One of the world's great buildings housing a superb art collection and designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Return to London for your final night and a farewell dinner.
Day 5 - After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your return flight home.
