CANCELLATION & COMMISSION POLICIES

YOUR GUESTS CAN BOOK A CRUISE WITH PEACE OF MIND, WITH 30-DAY CANCELLATION

Effective 6 October, your clients will be able to cancel their cruise up to 30 days prior to departure for all voyages until 31 December, 2021, without penalties when selecting a Future Cruise Credit. Applicable for all bookings made prior to 30 November 2020.

WHEN GUESTS CANCEL 30 DAYS PRIOR TO DEPARTURE DATE:

· They will receive a 100% Future Cruise Credit (FCC)*, equivalent to the portion of the booking paid minus any cancellation penalties from 3rd party suppliers charged to Silversea. This includes the cruise fare as well as any 3rd party items purchased via Silversea such as air upgrades, deviations, transfers, insurance, hotel, land tours and pre and post and overland tours.

· Silversea will not provide a Future Cruise Credit or Cash Refund on any independent Air, Hotel, Transfer ,Tour or other arrangements booked independently either by a Travel Advisor or the guest directly with third party suppliers.

· The Future Cruise Credit is transferable to family and friends, can be used partially and applied on more than one new booking. Plus, it can be applied towards a booking with a promotional pricing.

In the case guests opt for a cash refund^ instead, standard Silversea cancellation terms will apply.

WHEN GUESTS CANCEL LESS THAN 30 DAYS PRIOR TO DEPARTURE:

· Penalty will be 100% of the booking.

· Penalty for DACH markets is as follows:
    o 29 – 20 days prior to the initial sailing date: 60% of the total cruise fare per person;
    o 19 – 1 days prior to the initial sailing date: 80% of the total cruise fare per person;
    o on the initial sailing date or nonappearance at the time of sailing: 95% of the total cruise fare per person.

WHAT THIS MEANS TO YOUR COMMISSION:

· Commission is protected on both the cancelled booking as well as the new booking where the correlating Future Cruise Credit is applied.

· Please note that commission protection will only occur on cancelled reservations that are paid in full, fall within the final payment window, and where clients have opted to take advantage of the FCC option at 100%.

· If a guest misses the cancellation deadline of 30 days prior to departure date and requests a late cancellation, full penalties will be assessed, and commission will be protected.

· No additional payment will be accepted after the client and/or travel advisor has already communicated to Silversea their will to cancel and qualify for the FCC

· The protected commissions will NOT count against commission override.

In the case guests opt for a cash refund^:

    o  Standard penalties will apply and commission will be protected only if the booking is in 100% penalty.
    o  If the booking is not in 100% penalty, commissions are not protected and will be recalled. 

NET RATE BOOKINGS

· The same ‘Cruise with Confidence’ programme apply to our Net Rates. We will not consider any refund of Air, Hotel, Transfer, Tours or any other elements of a package that a Net Provider may have organized – irrespective of whether Silversea, the Net Provider or the guest chooses to cancel a cruise.

· Where Silversea cancels a cruise, we will communicate that directly to the Net Provider/Tour Operator rather than to our mutual guests so as to protect the confidentiality of the Net Rate.

VOYAGES CANCELLED BY SILVERSEA

· Guests will receive up to 110% Future Cruise Credit* for cruises canceled by Silversea through 30 November, 2020. This is an incredible value and an opportunity for your guests to enhance their future cruise.

· We have made the process very easy. Upon cancellation of the voyage, Silversea will email the Future Cruise Credit, within 15 days, to the email address(es) of the guests and the travel advisor in the reservation.

· The Future Cruise Credit is transferable to family and friends, and can be used partially and applied on more than one new booking.

· If guests decide to forego the Future Cruise Credit, a cash refund options is also available.^

· If guests booked Net Rates, then they will receive a 100% FCC. This applies for voyages cancelled in July 2020 forward.

EXCLUSIVE VENETIAN SOCIETY CRUISE DAYS: On voyages cancelled by Silversea due to Covid-19 from March 1, 2020 onward Venetian Society members will accumulate VS days on the cancelled voyage as well as on the new booked with the FCC. ^^
 

WHAT THIS MEANS TO YOUR COMMISSION:

· Commissions are protected on the original cancelled booking if this was paid in full, whether the client selects an FCC or a cash refund. Commission protection in the case of cash refunds, applies retroactively to all cruises canceled by Silversea. 

. To qualify for such protection, bookings need to be paid in full within the day Silversea notifies about the cancellation; NO additional  payment will be accepted about cruises already announced as cancelled.

· In contrast with Silversea standard policy, the Future Cruise Credit issued for these cancelations will NOT reduce the commission on the new booking.

. This “protected” commission will NOT count against commission override for sailing year 2020. 

· If client cancelled their cruise before Silversea announced the cruise cancellation, then this protection does not  apply.

· In the case that guests combine an FCC from prior to March 2020, with an FCC from a voyage cancelled by Silversea, then Commissions will only be protected on the voyage cancelled by Silversea and the FCCs will not reduce the commission on the new voyage.

· In case guests cancel a cruise and get the FCC, then apply the FCC on another voyage which also gets canceled later on, commissions on this second booking are not protected; the commission will be protected on the original booking, paid with new monies. The FCC will get back to the client and commission will be paid again once this FCC will be reapplied towards another voyage that will actually sail; e.g.: commissions are protected on a maximum of two bookings.

· Silversea will protect commissions in the event that Silversea proactively cancels a cruise in which your client has paid without the use of an FCC.  Should an FCC be accepted for that cancelled booking, the new reservation which is made using that FCC will also be commissionable once it sails, inclusive of the FCC value.

FOR GUESTS THAT HAVE A BOOKING SAILING PRIOR TO APRIL 30, 2021. IF BOOKED PRIOR TO 6TH OCTOBER 2020, OUR PRIOR POLICY OF UP TO 48 HOURS CANCELLATION WITHOUT PENALTIES STILL APPLIES, AS FOLLOWS:

· If guests cancel up to 48 hours prior to voyage departure date they can elect to receive 100% Future Cruise Credit* equivalent to the portion of the booking paid, minus any cancellation penalties from 3rd party suppliers charged to Silversea. If guests opt for a cash refund instead, standard Silversea cancellation terms will apply.

WHEN GUESTS CANCEL LESS THAN 48 HOURS PRIOR TO DEPARTURE:

· Penalty will be 100% of the booking

· Penalty for DACH markets is as follows:
    o 80% of the voyage price if the cancellation happens before 2 and 1 day before departure
    o 95% of the voyage price if the cancellation happens on the departure date or if there a no show


TERMS & CONDITIONS


Cruise with Confidence applies to all FIT and Group Bookings. All cruises, including full World Cruise and Grand Voyage Q1 2021. It does not apply to Chartered & Incentive sailings. In the case clients booked via a Tour Operator (Net Rates), they will have to first check the Tour Operator’s T&Cs. In the case that Silversea will issue an FCC for Tour Operator bookings, this would only be for the net cruise part of the booking.
About Group bookings: Tour Conductors are NOT protected in case of cancellations.

Silversea reserves the right to correct any errors, inaccuracies or omissions at any time without prior notice or liability.  Offer can be withdrawn without notice.

* FUTURE CRUISE CREDIT (FCC)

The FCC has 2 year of validity from the issuing date.

The FCC will be issued in the amount of the booking value paid. Booking value refers to the cruise fare plus any other purchased via Silversea such as air upgrades, deviations, transfers, insurance, hotel, land tours and pre and post and tours.  The FCC issued will be net of any penalties imposed to Silversea by these suppliers.

Cruises cancelled by the guest: No additional payment will be accepted after the clients and/or the travel advisor has already communicated to Silversea their wish to cancel the cruise and qualify for the FCC.

Cruises cancelled by Silversea: The FCC is computed on what has been paid on the day the cancellation is communicated by Silversea; NO additional payment will be accepted on cruises that Silversea has already announced to be canceled.

The FCC can be applied towards land programs, hotels, air and other non-cruise component of the new booking; ad hoc exceptions can be evaluated by Silversea.

For Net Rates, the FCC will be issued at 100% of what was paid.

The FCC can be moved voyage to voyage towards any other 2020 voyage.
    
If the value of this certificate is applied to a cruise fare of less than its assigned value, a new Cruise Credit for the remainder of the certificate’s value will be issued subject to the same terms and conditions as stated herein. Once applied toward future cruise(s), the Cruise Credit will be rendered null and void.

The Cruise Credit will be honored in the name(s) of the Guest(s) included on the Cruise Credit, or as a one-time exception the Cruise Credit can be transferred with a notarized letter from the Cruise Credit holder, naming the friend(s)/relative(s) the Credit is being transferred to.         

The FCC cannot be used for a past booking, partially paid existing bookings or a booking that has been paid in full. It must be used for new bookings only.

If guests have an FCC that was applied to the cancelled booking, this FCC will be reinstated with expiration date to December 31, 2020. Guests must sail by December 31, 2021. Once re-activated, it can be combined with the Cruise with Confidence FCC on the new booking. 

 FCC can be combined with current promotions, meaning that FCC can be applied towards a booking with a promotional pricing.

In case guests opt for an FCC, for cancellations of voyages sailing before 30 November 2020; they have the chance to switch it to a cash refund up until 31 December 2020. For voyages sailing after 1 December 2020, they can switch it to a cash refund up until 30 April 2021.

^^ The double Venetian Society Days promotion is only applicable to FCC associated to cruises cancelled by Silversea. The guest will accumulate Venetian Society days of the original cancelled booking and the ones associated with the new booking. It is combinable with all public fares and promotions excluding reduced rates and net deals. Only eligible for the Guests included in the original booking. If FCC is cancelled, and the guest opts for cash back instead, then the additional Venetian Society days will be removed.

Other restrictions may apply.

^ CASH REFUND


The cash refund of the booking cruise fare paid to be credited to the original method of payment could take up to 90 days but will typically be received within 30 to 45 days of guest’s request, due to exceptional workload Silversea is facing.
The refund of 3rd party items purchased via Silversea such as air upgrades, air deviation fees, transfers, insurance, hotel, land tours, pre/post and overlands will be net of any penalties assessed by the suppliers.

Regarding the refund of 3rd party items purchased independently such as such as air upgrades, deviations, transfers, insurance, hotel, land tours and pre and post and overland tours; please reach out to the airline carrier, tour operator, or hotel supplier/chain directly to discuss options.

In the case of sailings cancelled by Silversea, the refund of cancellation costs of any independent air arrangements will be evaluated upon presentation of the expenses to our guest relations department. Unless the refund has already been processed, clients can change their mind and ask for the FCC at any time. On all insurance items: no refunds allowed; guest should file a claim with the insurance company first, prior to any refund/FCC given.

Specific about insurance in the US market: AON & Allianz insurance policies are now fully refundable in the event that Silversea cancels the voyage and the guests active booking is thus cancelled due to our cruise cancellation.
