Following a transfer to the Yangon Airport and a scheduled flight to Bagan, upon arrival leisurely drive to hotel and on the way to hotel orientation tour by passing of many Temples and Pagodas . Enjoy breakfast at the hotel, take an optional balloon-ride, Start begin your exploration with a visit to the Nyaung Oo market, a colourful introduction to the local way of life and exotic wares. Following dinner, an overnight stay and breakfast at the hotel, check-out and transfer to the airport for your scheduled flight to Heho, gateway to Inle Lake. Upon arrival, take a scenic drive to the Nyaung Shwe Jetty, with a short visit to Local Shan Paper and umbrella making home industry & Shwe Yan Pyay Monastery en route. Upon arrival at the jetty, embark a local boat for a ride to Inle Lake and a Shan-style lunch at the 'Inle Heritage' restaurant. After lunch, take a sightseeing tour of Inle Lake and visit the Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda. From here, pass by floating villages, gardens, stop to see a traditional silk-weaving demonstration of artistic patterns made on wooden handlooms. Next, transfer to the Aureum Inle Resort for check-in, some free time and a sunset-viewing over Inle Lake. Following dinner, an overnight stay and breakfast at the Aureum Inle Resort, check-out and transfer via boat to the Nyaung Shwe Jetty, then to the airport for your scheduled flight to Yangon. At the conclusion of your visit, your Mid-Voyage Land Adventure concludes on Day 4 with a transfer to the pier in Yangon. Upon arrival, embark the ship.

Early morning Balloon ride on the 5th March in Bagan is optional and not included in the overland price. Guests may purchase it at the time of booking. Space on the ride is very limited; we suggest you book in advance to avoid disappointment. Payment in full is due within 120 days prior to sailing. This programme is non-refundable if cancelled within 90 days of sailing.
Operation of the balloon ride is dependent upon weather conditions.

This Silver Shore Mid-Land Adventure requires advance booking through Silversea Reservations no later than 90 days prior to the sail date. Requests received after this date may be accommodated on a space-available basis. VISA INFORMATION:
Silversea Cruises has arranged to obtain visas on arrival for all nationals debarking or transiting Myanmar as a port of call. Guests must have in their possession upon embarkation two passport style photos. This visa will be valid for group and independent travel within Myanmar. Your shipboard account will be charged the applicable visa fee imposed by Myanmar
LOCAL CURRENCY:
The local currency is the Burmese Kyat (MMK); however, US Dollars are well-accepted by most vendors. Local ATMs are available in some locations visited, and major credit cards are accepted in most larger shops and hotels (shopping stops are planned during this programme).

Upon arrival at the hotel, observe a Myanmar Longyi demonstration in the lobby, arranged exclusively for Silversea guests. Upon arrival in Bagan, meet your guide and transfer to the Nyaung Oo Market, a colourful introduction to the local way of life and exotic wares. From here, re-board your coach and head to the Shwezigon Pagoda.
Guided tour of the stunning Shwezigon Pagoda
The Shwezigon Pagoda is a paragon in the perfection of its architectural design. This important shrine, the main centre of pilgrimage in Bagan, derives its name from Jeyyabhumi, (Ground of Victory). Completed in the 12th century, the pagoda is approximately 160 feet (about 49 metres) in both height and width (at its base). Its golden umbrella is surrounded by four small pagodas at the corners. Although situated on a flat plain, many say the pagoda appears to be standing on a hill.
Ananda Temple
Next, a photo stop is made to the Ananda Temple. Built in 1091 by King Kyanzittha, the temple is said to represent the endless wisdom of the Buddha. The central square has sides of approximately 175 feet (about 53 metres), and rises in terraces to a height of approximately 168 feet (about 51 metres) above the ground. Its architecture, stone sculpture, stucco, glazed plaques, terracotta, woodcarving, and artwork by blacksmiths are all to be admired. One of the finest, largest and best-preserved of the Bagan temples, the Ananda suffered considerable damage in the earthquake of 1979, and its reconstruction followed.
Lunch at the Bagan Viewing Tower, a hotel transfer, check-in, and some free time
Leaving the Ananda Temple, proceed for lunch at the Bagan Viewing Tower, which offers spectacular views of the Bagan Temple site. After lunch, transfer to the nearby Aureum Palace Hotel for check-in and approximately one-hour of free time to relax, freshen-up and/or explore the hotel property.
Guided visit, demonstration and souvenir shopping at a lacquerware production site
This afternoon, meet your guide and transfer for a visit to the site of one of Myanmar's home industries, lacquerware. The art of lacquer takes its roots in China, where it has been practised for over 3,000 years and then developed throughout Southeast Asia. In Myanmar, the tree which one takes the resin is the Thit-si. Learn more about this art form, and browse the souvenirs available for sale.
Sunset-viewing at Hill lock
Next, transfer to Hill lock, located near temples and pagodas, for a spectacular sunset viewing. Following your visit, transfer back to the hotel.

Upon arrival at Heho, meet your guide and depart for the approximately 1.5-hour drive to the Nyaung Shwe Jetty, located on the northern tip of Inle Lake. En route, a short visit is made at Shan Paper & umbrella making process'& the Shwe Yan Pyay Monastery.
Boat-ride to Inle Lake, and a Shan-style lunch at the Inle Heritage restaurant
Upon arrival at Nyaung Shwe, embark a local boat and head to Inle Lake, where a stop at the Inle Heritage restaurant for a set-menu, Shan-style lunch.

After lunch, take a sightseeing tour of Inle Lake. Points of interest may include a visit to the dazzling, 18th-century Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, one of the principal temples in Myanmar.

Please note: This Mid-Voyage Land Adventure requires an extensive amount of walking, at times over uneven, bumpy, rocky, sandy, grassy, and natural surfaces and inclines, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach and horse-drawn cart, embark/disembark the local boat, board/de-board airplanes, and many steps at the sites visited.
