On this epic adventure navigate Howe Sound Waters and the Georgia Straight in Vancouver to observe whales in their natural habitat. The three species commonly seen in these water are the southern resident killer whales who feed off salmon which spawn here in the summer, transient killer whales who migrate up and down the coast in search of food, and the Humpback Whales who travel here in the summer to early fall and feed off the small fish in the Harbour. Humpback whales can range in size up to 55 feet and weigh up to 40 tons. All whales are intelligent and have individual personalities. DAY 1 - VANCOUVER
As you debark the ship the local Silversea representative is on hand to direct you to your motor-coach for a three-hour deluxe sightseeing tour of Vancouver. The city is renowned for its splendid gardens, as well as the mountains, ocean forest and parklands surrounding the city.
Following your tour check-in to the hotel and the balance of the day is at leisure. Lunch and dinner are at your own expense.

DAY 2 - VANCOUVER / KAMLOOPS
This morning you are transferred to the Rocky Mountaineer Rail Depot to begin your journey. Enjoy breakfast aboard the train.
Your journey today takes you through the scenic Fraser Valley and over the dramatic Fraser Canyon. At Hell's Gate you see one of the most spectacular scenes along the entire route as thousands of gallons of rushing water are forced through one of the canyon's narrowest points. Continue alongside the Thompson River as you make your way toward Kamloops, British Columbia.
At the end of the day, arrive in Kamloops, British Columbia and transfer to your hotel for check-in. Breakfast and lunch are served on the train. Dinner is at your own expense.

DAY 3 - KAMLOOPS / BANFF
Rise and shine early today to re-board the Rocky Mountaineer and continue eastward to the Canadian Rockies. Breakfast is served on the train.
You travel through vast ranchlands to Shuswap Lake Pass Craigellachie where the "last spike" was driven completing the Canadian Pacific Railway in 1885. Beyond Craigellachie is Rogers Pass with its tunnels, glistening glaciers, and snowcapped mountains. Thrill as you pass through the Spiral Tunnels in Yoho National Park. Lunch is served on the train as the magnificent scenery continues to parade past.
Arrive in Banff in the early evening and transfer to the historic Fairmont Banff Springs Resort. Upon arrival, time is made available to take photos, explore their shorelines, and learn about the area's mountaineering history. Your tour concludes with a stroll to a viewpoint in the Valley of Ten Peaks for splendid views and photo opportunities overlooking Moraine Lake.
Following your visit, transfer back to the hotel for dinner at your own expense.

After claiming your luggage upon arrival in Calgary, you will be met by a representative with your name on a Silversea sign. Representative will be outside Canada Customs (for guests arriving on international flights) and in the baggage claim area (for guests arriving on domestic Canadian flights).
After meeting your representative you will be transferred to Banff, which is an approximately 70-mile (112-kilometre) drive. Upon arrival in Banff, proceed to your hotel for check-in. The balance of the day is spent at your leisure; you may opt to relax or explore your surroundings independently. A visit to the Banff Visitor Center, which features a uniquely original interpretive program, offers an outstanding overview of the area.

Highlights include the steep slopes and rock sheds along the Thompson River, and the rushing waters of Hell's Gate in the Fraser River Canyon. Lunch is served on board the train.

The Public Market there is always delightful or perhaps a jaunt to Whistler, where spectacular views of craggy peaks and icy glaciers can be seen from the gondola that in winter serves the world-class ski resort.
