LONDON (Tower Bridge)
LONDON (Tower Bridge)

Centuries-old architecture shares an instantly recognisable skyline with the modern metallic and glass shards of skyscrapers in London, a city of endless history and tradition. Arrive at the centre of it all, below the watch of one of the most famous bridges in the world, Tower Bridge. From here, you can begin a tour of iconic landmarks, and discover why England’s capital is one of the most visited, adored and adulated cities. So much to see, so little time. View more

The traditional and contemporary go hand in hand in London like nowhere else. Ascend the London Eye, for a birds-eye view of the city, before wandering across the Thames's wide flow to the Gothic architecture of the Houses of Parliament, and the rise of Big Ben’s unmistakable clocktower. A hefty sprinkle of royal pageantry awaits at Buckingham Palace, where red-jacketed soldiers stomp sternly and solemnly in their duty, during ceremonies to mark the changing of the guards. Close to Tower Bridge, you’ll find the Tower of London's historic fortress, palace and prison, while bustling central markets like Borough Market offer a taste of flavours from around the world. Sweeping green spaces like Hyde Park provide spacious relief from the skyscrapers, while world-class museums exhibit finely curated exhibitions from across the world, covering the entire scope of human history and invention, as well as the natural world. Greenwich’s leafy parks and centres of refined study are close by, or a boat ride along the Thames will introduce you to this megacity from the perspective of the water.

Excursions depuis LONDON (Tower Bridge)

A Taste of London

Discover the culinary secrets and specialities of the historic Borough Market on-foot during this exclusive, half-day foodie excursion with author and TV chef Celia Brooks.

Tower Pier, Borough Market

Depart the pier for the scenic, approximately 30-minute walk to the Borough Market. The oldest food market in London, the Borough Market dates back over 1,000 years and is just as relevant today as it's ever been.

With an array of exceptional produce, from traditional British to regional specialities from around the world, the market not only reflects London's diversity but provides a wonderful opportunity to taste some of the very best produce from the producers themselves.

Guided Culinary Tour with Author and TV Chef Celia Brooks

Upon arrival at the market, you are met by author and TV chef Celia Brooks, the only official Borough Market tour guide. Celia has worked with the market for over 10 years, and possesses an insider's knowledge of the best it has to offer. Born in Colorado, U.S.A., Celia moved to London after university and worked for several years as a private chef for film director Stanley Kubrick before running her own catering business. She has also written nine cookbooks and recorded numerous TV appearances, including Saturday Kitchen on BBC in the United Kingdom, and on PBS and The Food Network in the United States.

Oysters, Prosecco, Hams, Olives, Cheeses, Seafood, Wine, Rum, Chocolate, & Charcuterie Tastings

Your visit begins with freshly-shucked oysters and prosecco, followed by an exclusive tour with Celia around the amazing Borough Market. Hear the extraordinary history of this ancient market, and enjoy generous tastings from the cream of the market crop. Sample West Country scrumpy (cider), Spanish hams, olives, antipasti, fine cheeses from Britain and beyond, rare breed meats, fresh scallops, Turkish meze, and many more, plus a short break for top-shelf rum, luxury hot chocolate and brownies. Your tour concludes with a glass of wine, cheese and charcuterie at a trendy wine bar within the market. Following your visit, commence the approximately 30-mnute walk back to the pier.

London Panorama and London Eye

Discover the many renowned landmarks of London during this panoramic, half-day sightseeing excursion via coach and the London Eye.

Tower Pier, London Bridge, St. Paul Cathedral, Buckingham Palace, Parliament Square

Depart the pier for the scenic, approximately two-hour orientation drive through London. Along the way, pass by some of London's most famous landmarks. View the fabled Tower of London and London Bridge, and pass by Sir Christopher Wren's masterpiece, St. Paul's Cathedral. From here, head to the West End and London's theatre district, then see Admiral Nelson atop his column in Trafalgar Square. Your drive continues past Buckingham Palace en route to a photo stop in Parliament Square. Here, marvel at the magnificent architecture all around the square, including the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, glorious Westminster Abbey and statues of major international political figures.

London Eye, River Thames, Houses of Parliament, Big Ben

Next, experience an aerial view of this amazing city at the London Eye, still one of London's most spectacular attractions. Upon arrival at the London Eye, located across the River Thames from the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben, board your private, specially-reserved capsule, which accommodates up to 25 people.

Welcome Drink, London City Landmarks

After receiving a welcome glass of champagne, begin your 'flight', which offers breath-taking views across London and the River Thames. Whether you've been to London before or are a first-time visitor, this wonderful experience shows you many of the most famous buildings and sites in London at a glance. The London Eye moves around very slowly, giving you plenty of time to observe and take photos of many impressive city views. At the conclusion of your visit, re-board your coach and commence the approximately 45-minute drive back to the pier.

Please note: This tour requires advance booking 14 days prior to the start of the cruise. Cancellations received after this deadline will incur penalty charges of up to 100%, which will be billed to your shipboard account. This tour involves a moderate amount of walking for approximately 328 yards (about 300 metres), with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach and five-six steps to enter/exit the capsules. Panoramic London & Westminster Abbey

Discover the highlights of London and visit Westminster Abbey during this panoramic half-day sight-seeing tour.

Depart the pier for a panoramic drive around the capital to view the highlights from the comfort of your coach. Sites such as Westminster, Whitehall and the St. James's section of London are brought into view during your drive.

Panoramic Drive

Crossing Westminster Bridge, pass by the neo-Gothic Parliament buildings presiding over the banks of the River Thames and its adjacent 320 foot clock tower of Big Ben. Continuing into Whitehall, pass the end of Downing Street and the Cenotaph war memorial and the Horse Guard's Parade.

Travel along the broad triumphal approach to Buckingham Palace passing The Mall, which is lined on one side by the delightful St. James's Park; a quiet and relaxed oasis with beautiful flowerbeds and a lake with ducks and pelicans floating upon it.

Westminster Abbey

Continue to Westminster Abbey for an inside guided visit. The Abbey is world famous as the resting place of Britain's monarchs and as the setting for coronations and other great pageants. Within its walls can be seen some of the most glorious examples of medieval architecture in London. It also contains one of the most impressive collections of tombs and monuments in the world. Half national church, half national museum, the abbey occupies a unique place in the British national consciousness.

Your knowledgeable guide explains how the abbey's interior presents an exceptionally diverse array of architectural and sculptural styles. Many English monarchs were buried here; some of their tombs are deliberately plain, whilst others are lavishly decorated. At the same time, there are monuments to a number of Britain's greatest public figures, ranging from politicians to poets.

Please note: The tour involves moderate amount of walking and is not suitable for guests who utilise a wheelchair as some areas of the Abbey are unavoidably inaccessible to guests in wheelchairs. Areas within Westminster Abbey may be dimly lit, much of the Abbey's floor and stairs are uneven so sensible footwear is advised. Caution is advised as low doorways access some chapels. Guests are advised to wear lightweight, comfortable clothing with flat, closed-toe walking shoes and a weatherproof jacket or coat from the ship.

BODY>

This leisurely half day coach tour is a great way to obtain an overall impression of one of the most lively and interesting cities in the world. A city that welcomes you to its red buses and friendly 'Bobbies', great churches, imposing statues and many elegant pubs.

London and the West End

Commence the tour in the 'City', and then continue to the 'West End', the part of central London west of the City's limits. London would not be London without its captivating 'square mile' of the old City - the historic and intriguing area around which modern London as we know it has grown and where the medieval and Georgian atmosphere still survives.

Westminster, Whitehall and St. James's

View Westminster, Whitehall and St. James's sections of London, as the coach crosses Westminster Bridge, and passes by the neo-Gothic Parliament buildings presiding over the banks of the River Thames and its adjacent 320 foot clock tower of Big Ben. From Parliament Square look across to St. Margaret's Church. Standing adjacent is the architectural and masterpiece of the 13th to 16th centuries - Westminster Abbey. It represents a unique pageant of British history as the setting for every Coronation since 1066, and for numerous other Royal occasions. The Guide will point out the main external features of the building and a photo stop is made to take photographs of the outside.

Boarding the coach you will then see Whitehall, passing the end of Downing Street and the Cenotaph war memorial and past Horse Guard's Parade. Afterwards travel along the broad triumphal approach to Buckingham Palace - The Mall which is lined on one side by the delightful St. James's Park, a quiet and relaxed oasis with its flowerbeds and its ducks and pelicans on the lake. James's Palace; still the Court's official headquarters and adjacent Clarence House Clarence House - London home of Prince Charles and Camila, Duchess of Cornwall.Pass the Admiralty Arch which separates courtly London from the hurly burly of Trafalgar Square that stands imposing Nelson's Column.

Royal Greenwich

Greenwich is one of London's most popular sight-seeing destinations and it brims with maritime, scientific and royal history. In 2012, this leafy London suburb became the Royal Borough of Greenwich in recognition of the town's long and illustrious heritage as well as its royal associations.

Today enjoy visiting the key sites of Greenwich, the National Maritime Museum and the Royal Observatory.

Royal Observatory

The world's time has been measured from Greenwich since 1844 and a visit to the Royal Observatory will give you the opportunity to straddle the hemispheres! Standing as a monument to navigational research, the Royal Observatory is the original home of Greenwich Mean Time and is famous for being the source of the Prime Meridian line that divides the East from the West (longitude 0° 0' 0"). The Observatory galleries unravel time, space and astronomy, while the Planetarium explores the heavens and at Flamsteed House, Sir Christopher Wren's original building, is where London's only public camera obscura is housed.

National Maritime Museum

The National Maritime Museum is formed from the Queen's House and has 2 separate wings, joined by colonnades. The museum was first opened in 1937. The west and east wings, plus the linking colonnades, were built in 1807-16 by Daniel Alexander; the west wing holds the main body of the museum whilst the east wing is mostly used for special exhibitions. There is a wonderful collection of boats and naval memorabilia, relics, maps, charts and uniforms, all of which tell the long story of Britain's history as a seafaring nation. Nelson's blood stained uniform from the Battle of Trafalgar is one of the star attractions. The number of exhibits in the Museum is enormous and main intention of the Museum is to show off the history of mankind's association with the sea.

Visits to the Royal Observatory and Maritime Museum are free-flow but the guide will be on hand to lead the way and to add facts and history and insights.

Please note: This tour involves a moderate to extensive amount of walking and is not suitable for guests with limited mobility or guests who utilise a wheelchair. 2NT PST- Cruise ENGLISH MANOR RETREAT

Revel in the pastoral tranquillity of a unique hotel - a refined retreat with more than a few surprises. Set in 240 acres of picturesque parkland on the borders of Windsor Great Park, Coworth Park blends the warmth and comfort of a traditional country house hotel with an eccentric spirit that is undeniably English and irrefutably modern.

An association with equestrianism began even before he bought the estate; the Prince and Princess of Wales, the future King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra stayed there in 1879 and 1883 to enjoy the racing at nearby Ascot.

The rest of the afternoon and evening are at your leisure to enjoy this historic home that has welcomed royalty and other notables for centuries. Lunch and dinner are on your own account. If you'd like to dine in the hotel's fine dining restaurant during your stay, these arrangements should be made well in advance.

Overnight at Coworth Park

DAY 2 - COWORTH PARK

A hearty English breakfast awaits you in the morning. Today is completely at your leisure to be as active or relaxed as you wish.

Outdoor enthusiasts can find plenty to do - there are rambling trails that cover the 240-acre grounds, the on-site equestrian centre gives lesson in riding, Guards Polo Academy at Coworth Park gives polo lessons, and tennis, fishing, shooting, and croquet can all be arranged. Golfers might be interested in teeing up at The Wentworth Club, and the historic royal hunting ground of Windsor Great Park is within walking distance. At Runnymede, the Royal Air Force Memorial is serene, beautiful and poignant, with impressive views of the Thames. The UK's most famous racecourse, Ascot, is a mere 10-minute drive away.

It is recognized as one of the finest restaurants in Oxford for its fine modern British cuisine and its menu is built around the inspired creations of Executive Chef Paul Welburn.

Day 4 - Depart Oxford for the quaint town of Burford, considered to be the southern 'gateway' to the Cotswolds. This beautiful old Cotswold town, with its broad high street lined with dignified houses, ancient stone cottages and shops that seem little changed since Tudor times, slopes down from the high Wolds to the willow fringed River Windrush and offers glorious views over the open countryside.

Continue your tour to Bourton-on-the-Water which has been described as the 'Little Venice' of the Cotswolds. Not far away is Stow-on-the-Wold, a delightful and historic market town and perhaps the best known of the smaller Cotswolds towns; it is situated atop of a 700 foot high hill and at a junction of eight major roads. Enjoy lunch and free time in Stow before continuing to the magnificent Blenheim Palace, home of the Dukes of Marlborough and the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill where you will have a private guided tour of the State Rooms.
