New Silver Spirit Enhancements Elevate the Atmosphere at Sea

What’s perhaps best about Silversea ships, including the recently renewed Silver Spirit, is a feeling of coming home. Of the many Silversea ships I’ve traveled on, it’s the details I remember most—a waiter remembering me from a previous cruise, a bartender quickly learning my favorite libations, a tuxedo-clad butler surprising me with a prepared bubble bath. On Silver Spirit, you can expect that same elevated atmosphere at sea taken to new levels, thanks to major enhancements on the ship.

“The completion of Silver Spirit’s revitalization marks an important milestone for our fleet,” says Bert Hernandez, president, Silversea. “As the ship returns to service, we’re giving our guests a renewed onboard experience—one that blends relaxed sophistication, immersive dining, and destination-driven discovery.”

Silver Spirit first launched in 2009, followed by cutting it in two to add a 48-foot midsection in 2018. The 2026 refinements further evolve the guest experience by bringing the 636-guest ship to its truest expression. “From refreshed spaces to refined culinary experiences, every update was thoughtfully designed to elevate how our guests spend their time on board, as Silver Spirit embarks on immersive voyages through Northern Europe,” Hernandez says.

The ocean-view pool deck, spa, and fitness

For those who love being outdoors between destinations, the reimagined pool deck has comfortable sunbeds for all. Sip the chilled drink that arrives by your side and admire the endless sea views. New features also add more active opportunities for fresh-air experiences with a new golf putting green, “Off the Deck” golf simulator and hitting bay, and expanded fitness options.

Indoors, enjoy restoration at the enhanced Zagara Spa with new spa chairs and beds, where expert massages and other treatments relax and invigorate. You can also visit the Fitness Center to use amp, the AI-powered strength machine, and take a range of fitness classes. Or simply unwind in spaces that include a sauna, a steam room, and an outdoor whirlpool.

New Medallion Suites on Silver Spirit

Guests aboard Silver Spirit stay in generously spaced ocean-facing suites, most with verandas and all with personalized butler service, quality bed linens, your choice of pillows, and spacious marble bathrooms. New to the ship are Medallion Suites, a successful layout first introduced on the Silversea Nova Class ships. These oases boast a cozy living area, a secluded bedroom with a king-size bed, a private veranda, and a bathroom with a bathtub and a walk-in shower.

The Owner’s Suite, Grand Suite, Royal Suite, and Silver Suite on Silver Spirit are all stylish one-bedroom apartments at sea, each with the option to add a second bedroom. Additional categories range from Vista Suites with picture windows and generous interior space to Deluxe Veranda Suites with private verandas close to the heart of the ship. Many suites can accommodate three guests.

Introducing Riviera, new Mediterranean-inspired poolside dining

Silversea is known for its dining, with more restaurants than you may expect on a small ship. Silver Spirit’s nine dining options include Seishin, which serves Japanese cuisine and is exclusive to the ship; a supper club with live jazz; and a new poolside concept making its debut, Riviera. The casual open-air restaurant, inspired by the Mediterranean coastal lifestyle, transforms with the rhythm of the day.

You might think you’re in Saint-Tropez or Portofino as you start your morning at Riviera, sipping coffee or tea and enjoying serene moments with the option of wellness rituals. Come afternoon, the all-day restaurant grows livelier and more social as curated music plays, continuing into the evening for laid-back dining under the stars.

The menu of light fare includes fresh salads, wraps, burgers, ceviche, fish of the day, and plant-based options. Diners also have their choice of ice-cold spritzes inspired by the destination, other handcrafted cocktails, and a well-edited list of white wines, rosés, light- to medium-bodied reds, and Champagne—ideal for watching sunsets over the sea.

Silver Spirit welcomes S.A.L.T. culinary program

The award-winning S.A.L.T., Sea And Land Taste program is a key part of what makes Silversea dining so exceptional—and is a personal favorite of mine. The culinary concept gives you a literal taste of the places you’re visiting, along with the stories and history behind what you’re eating or drinking, to bring each destination to the table.

The renewed Silver Spirit introduces the S.A.L.T. culinary program to the ship, including S.A.L.T. Kitchen restaurant, which serves dishes inspired by the places you’re visiting, accompanied by regional wines. At the S.A.L.T. Bar, sample regional spirits in custom cocktails made with local ingredients. And if you’re like me and enjoy getting your hands dirty to learn new things, head to the S.A.L.T. Lab for intimate, hands-on cooking classes focused on regional tastes and traditions in a professional kitchen.

The new Venetian Lounge and other public areas

Silver Spirit also elevates entertainment in the fully refreshed Venetian Lounge, where singers, dancers, and musicians are among the talents that perform against the backdrop of a brand-new LED wall. It’s one of several enhancements, including elegant new drapery, designed for guest comfort.

You’ll also find live music in other vibrant lounges and bars on Silver Spirit, where you can sample handcrafted cocktails and endless Champagne over lively conversation. Additional social spaces include the casino, the Arts Café (with excellent lattes), and the Connoisseur’s Corner for cigar and cognac aficionados. In the Observation Library, you can read a book if you’re not distracted by the views through floor-to-ceiling windows.

Personalized service

The design of the ship complements the star of the show on Silver Spirit and any Silversea cruise—the crew. Silversea has a high, nearly 1:1 guest-to-crew ratio, which assures attentive service and more than that, gives crew the time to get to know guests, make suggestions, and, if you ask, even share details about their own lives.

On a recent sailing, my butler indulged me with my requested afternoon snack of caviar and Champagne and, after I returned one day from an active adventure ashore, surprised me with a scent-infused shower steamer that turned my glass shower into a soothing aromatherapy experience. Silver Spirit itineraries in Northern Europe and the British Isles

The refreshed Silver Spirit will navigate glacier-sculpted shores this spring and summer on Northern Europe passages that focus on destination immersion, like all Silversea cruises. Journeys embarking in July include the 11-day Southampton to Ijmuiden (Amsterdam) and the 12-day Ijmuiden (Amsterdam) to Copenhagen.

These voyages drift through the Norwegian fjords with their cascading waterfalls, snow-capped peaks, and pastoral landscapes. The shipwill also pass through the English Channel, with pebble beaches and chalk cliffs along the English shore. And guests explore Western Europe’s less-visited gems such as Rouen, France, with its medieval alleys and half-timbered lanes, and the willow-fringed canals and brick Gothic architecture of Bruges, Belgium. Along the way, sample Norwegian seafood, France’s crisp ciders, and Calvados, all complemented by the welcoming Northern spirit.

On these itineraries and more, the intimate Silver Spirit has set the standard for experiential cruising and—with thoughtful enhancements throughout—elevated dining and enrichment.
