Silversea Luxury Cruises A HVAR

HVAR
HVAR

One of the most popular of the island escapes sprinkled across the turquoise Adriatic, Hvar is a glorious idyll of hidden coves, electric blue waters and quietly contented port towns. In recent years, it’s gathered something of a reputation as a party island - mainly earned from Hvar Town’s nocturnal exuberances, and the transient day-tripping yachts that drop by. View more

Soak up the energy, exuberance and fine dining, or sidestep the hedonism to explore a richly refined, rural and historic island – utterly spoiled with sunshine, and hidden beaches, which dazzle with colourful intensity. Bike rides along long sweeping coastal paths, boat journeys from pretty harbours, walks through fields of purple lavender - it’s all waiting for you on heavenly Hvar. Relish the sunshine and explore deserted, idyllic inlets, before sharing strong espressos in quiet harbour towns, surrounded by welcoming, sun-wrinkled locals. There’s also rich Medieval history – the sleepy town of Stari Grad is said to be Croatia’s oldest, dating back to 384 BC. Elsewhere, Jelsa is a postcard perfect place – settle in for a bite to eat, with nothing but the sound of harbour waters lapping and sandpaper scraping boats hulls for company. You can walk to look out over glorious views across to Brac, sometimes watching on as thunderstorms rage and flash, an eternity away over the mainland’s crumpled mountains. You’re also just a short ferry ride from the incredible Golden Horn - an evocative spike of brilliant sand which juts out evocatively into the cobalt-blue sea.

Blue Cave & Vis Island by RIB Boat

Ride in style on a RIB speed boat, exploring Hvar's natural wonders including the Blue Cave and Stiniva Beach as well as the quaint Komiza Village.

Bisevo Island with Blue Cave

Bisevo Island leaves everyone breathless, with its memorable combination of natural phenomena, sandy bays and friendly islanders. The Island of Bisevo is situated 5 nautical miles from the town of Komiza (on Vis island), and is best known for its rare natural phenomenon, the Blue Cave. The interior of the cave and the sea within it are illuminated with an indescribable silver-blue light. The rays of sun passing into the cave through a small crack in its ceiling are reflected in the sea, creating incredible light effects.

Arrive on Bisevo at Mezoporat Bay and board a small wooden boat which takes you into the cave. The cave entrance is quite small, requiring that you crouch in the center of the boat while the skipper manages the boat into the cave. After visiting Blue Cave, rejoin your speed boat for scenic ride back to Komiza.

Komiza Guided Walk, Free Time & Lunch

Continue with a cruise to Vis Island and explore picturesque village of Komiza, a quaint, small town on the western coast. The town is situated in a deep bay of the same name. Established in 16th century, this village still depends largely on fishing and agriculture as it did hundreds of years ago. Its fishermen not only ruled with their boats over the Adriatic Sea, but they also traded with the neighbouring coast, creating fishermen's centres on the Pacific coasts of both Americas.

Upon arrival take a guided tour of the streets and squares of this charming fisherman village. Afterward, some free time is made available to explore the town at your leisure. Following your free time, enjoy lunch in the village before cruising to your next location.
