Located a mere 12 miles (about 19 kilometres) west of the island of Tahiti, Moorea is a triangular-shaped island encircled by a lagoon of translucent green, and fringed by an azure blue Polynesian sea. Many people have described Moorea as the most beautiful place on earth. Here, embrace the real South Seas' experience; a casual, barefoot existence amidst white-sand beaches and multi-hued lagoons surrounded by jagged mountains and volcanic spires that reach into the clouds. Below, valleys are blanketed with the colours that one only finds when tropical climates and rich, volcanic soils meet. An overnight stay in an over-the-water bungalow at the beautiful Hilton Moorea Lagoon Resort & Spa offers an intimate escape to a romantic island where you can watch the marine life from your balcony, or climb down the steps directly to swim and/or snorkel in your little piece of paradise. Set off the next morning aboard an outrigger canoe adventure to explore the undersea beauty of Moorea. Swim in the turquoise lagoon, meet rays, look for sharks, fish and marine life, see carved volcanic rocks with a gallery of sculpted tikis, go fishing, taste and prepare Tahitian specialities, and enjoy a seafood lunch on the beach. Your Mid-Voyage Land Adventure concludes on Day Two with a ferry-transfer to the pier in Papeete, and your ship.

DAY TWO - Friday, January 18, 2019 - Moorea/Papeete
Awake to the rays of the sun and sparkle of the sea as it dances through your window. Take a morning swim, or sip your coffee just soaking in the ambience. After breakfast at the resort, check-out at the appropriate time, store your luggage at the hotel's reception desk and embark an approximately 30-foot-long (about nine-metre-long) outrigger canoe for an up-close look at the undersea beauty of Moorea.
Along the way, swim in the turquoise lagoon, get acquainted with the rays, even touch them, and, if you are lucky, see black-tipped sharks. Visit the carved volcanic rocks that form a lagoon gallery of approximately 4.6-foot-high (about 1.5-metre-high) sculptured tikis that lie beneath the surface of the crystal-clear water. During the return journey, stop at an islet to fish and taste pahua, a delicious Tahitian shellfish. You are also invited to take part in the preparation of the famous poisson cru (raw fish salad), served with coconut milk.
A lunch of seafood, salads and exotic fruit is served on the beach. After lunch, you can relax and unwind amidst this intimate paradise, or go snorkelling in the natural aquarium located opposite the beach site. At the conclusion of your journey, return to the Hilton Moorea Resort & Spa, retrieve your luggage and transfer to the ferry pier for a relaxing, approximately 30-minute ferry-ride to Papeete. Upon arrival at the pier, embark the ship.
