Cesme

Located in the very eastern tip of the country and closer to Athens than Istanbul, Cesme in Turkey is perhaps one of the world’s most unsung resorts. Wildly popular with the Turks yet relatively unknown out of the country, Cesme is surrounded by long, fine sandy beaches are and limpid seas. Yet the town still retains very much of a Turkish atmosphere with the Genoese Castle and the maze of streets behind have hardly changed in decades. View more

The Town Square is an ideal place to sit with a cool drink and watch the world go by, while the thermal spa and mud baths are definitely worth a visit. The nearby town of Alaçatı has transformed itself from a crumbling village of former-Greek stone properties, into a ‘Boutique Village’ with pavement cafes and boutiques lining the cobbled streets.
