If you love to fish, Bimini is a sporting fisher's paradise. Sitting on the edge of the Gulfstream and the westernmost edge of the Bahamas, Bimini is the perfect location for access to the tropical north-flowing current of warm waters, replete with fish of all varieties. More than 50 record-setting catches have been made in its waters, including huge tuna, tarpon, barracuda, dolphin, wahoo, marlin and swordfish. The flats have an abundance of bonefish and permit; wrecks close to shore hold large grouper, fan-size grunts, and schools of snapper, amberjack and mackerel. Conditions for fishing in Bimini are perfect year-round, making it a highly popular destination for fishing tournaments and events.
Stingrays Encounter at Honeymoon Harbour
Ride to Honeymoon Harbour, a small anchorage on the north end of Gun Cay that is only accessible by water.
Your stingrays encounter enables you to interact with, pet and feed stingrays in their natural habitat. The stingrays at Honeymoon Harbor are accustomed to being fed, and will probably swim right over to you as you wade in the crystal-clear shallow waters. With a mere three feet (about 0.9-metre) to the bottom, the stingray experience is an ideal activity for kids and families.
