Newly built in 2004, this very ornate temple follows in the tradition of temple art, dating back centuries and provides a good example of the influence and style that are still significant in modern Thai religious architecture. The elaborate entry doors were made from two enormous slabs of Laotian hardwood and are intricately carved with images of the life of the Buddha. The highlight is the big statue of the Goddess of Mercy which is housed elegantly outside the shrine in the temple compound.

Depart the pier for the scenic, approximately 30-minute drive to the Namuang Safari Park via the verdant countryside and coastal roads of Ko Samui. En route, pass by local villages, plantations and beaches. Upon arrival at the Namuang Safari Park, board a majestic elephant for a trek through the foliage and open spaces of a plantation.
Elephant and Monkey Shows
Afterward, take in an entertaining elephant show. Marvel at the intelligence and charm of young elephants as they perform many entertaining tricks, including playing football. Next up is a fun-filled monkey show. Observe the delightful antics of these well-trained primates, including picking ripe coconuts from trees and frolicking with their cohorts.
Leaving the Namuang Safari Park, re-board your Jeep and proceed to the Namuang Waterfall. The waters of this stunning, approximately 98-foot-high (about 30-metre-high) waterfall cascade over a sheer rock face into a deep pool at the base of the waterfall. Along the path leading to the falls from the parking area are several souvenir stalls to browse. Following your visit, re-board your Jeep and commence the approximately 30-minute drive back to the pier.
Please note: This tour involves a moderate amount of off-road driving and walking for approximately 328 yards (300 metres), at times over uneven surfaces and inclines, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the Jeep and 15 steps at the elephant riding station.
