Silversea Luxury Cruises To Antilla

Located on the north-eastern shore of Cuba, Antilla, located in Holguin Province, was established in 1907 as a port town and railroad terminal. Today, Antilla is a sleepy town (population approx. 12,500) that serves as the gateway to the much more urban city of Holguin (population 1.5 million). The village is located not too far away from the small commune of Biran, which is the childhood home of Fidel Castro and his brother, Raul. View more

Antilla is situated on a peninsula between Banes Bay and history-laden Nipe Bay, located on the northern coast of Cuba in the Oriente region. In Roman Catholic tradition, Nipe Bay is site of a miraculous discovery circa 1600 of the statue of Our Lady of Charity, Patroness of Cuba. Nipe Bay is also the site of a naval engagement (the Battle of Nipe Bay) during the Spanish-American War that took place on July 21, 1898.
