James Howard, Ph.D, Geologist
Dr. James Howard earned his BS in geology from the University of Dayton, an MS in geology from the University of Houston, and a PhD in geology with minors in paleoecology, marine ecology, oceanography and environmental studies from Indiana University. Dr. Howard has had the opportunity to teach at several colleges and universities in the US, including Ohio University, Oregon State University, University of Southern California, UC Los Angeles, and UC Irvine.
He has training in field marine ecology at Duke University and Ocean Springs Marine Laboratory (Mississippi). Dr. Howard has conducted marine research in the Florida Keys, British and American Virgin Islands and the coastal areas of the Gulf of Mexico.
Dr. Howard has spent the past nearly four decades as an environmental consultant involved in projects in 38 states as well as Canada and the Caribbean.
