Discover the whimsical art of the city's most famous architect, Antonio Gaudí, during this scenic, half-day sightseeing tour of Barcelona.
Depart the pier for the drive through the centre of the city towards the north and Colonia Güell.
Colonia Güell
A jewel of modernism still relatively unknown to the big public, Colonia Güell remains today as one of the most secret treasures of Catalan architecture genious Antoni Gaudí. Conceived as an industrial village to accommodate factory workers, Gaudi was in charge of building the church of the installations and even though the temple remained unfinished, the crypt is considered a culminating point of his works: the construction including for the first time practically all of his architectural innovations. After a guided visit, your tour continues on with a visit to the Church of the Holy Family, or, 'La Sagrada Familia'.
La Sagrada Familia
This monumental but unfinished church is Gaudí's most famous masterpiece. Its towering spires are Barcelona's most prominent landmark. Many of the steeples Gaudí envisioned have not yet been built, and much of the structure is still exposed to the heavens. Take a walk around this unfinished church on an exterior visit for photos before continuing your drive through the Eixample District.
Eixample District Tour
The Eixample District is home to some of Barcelona's most stunning examples of Modernist architecture, especially along the elegant Passeig de Gracia. Important buildings such as the Pedrera House, the Batllo House and the Ametller House line this impressive thoroughfare.
Casa Batlló
Next, a visit is made to Casa Batlló. Originally a residence of a wealthy industrialist, Gaudí completely renovated the building between 1904 and 1906, and its façade is unsurpassed in the entire city. There are no corners; even the walls are rounded and the tile roof depicts the back of a dragon. Your guided walking tour of this Gaudí masterpiece includes the impressive main floor and rooftop, which features whimsical chimneys and offers spectacular views over the city.
Following your visit, re-board your coach for the return drive to the pier.
Please note: This tour involves a moderate amount of walking, with several steps to negotiate at the Casa Batlló (4 floors). It is not suitable for guests with limited mobility or those who utilise a wheelchair. Barcelona's City Government will no longer allow motor-coaches to drive by or stop near the Sagrada Familia. Respectful attire that covers the shoulders and knees should be worn in order to enter the crypt. Photos and video are not allowed inside the crypt. Motor-coaches are required to park in a parking lot approximately 2-3 blocks away from the Sagrada Familia. This will add an approximate 10 to 15 minute walk to and from Sagrada Familia (30 minutes total) and the order of sites visited may vary.

After tendering ashore, depart the pier for an orientation drive through Alghero, then continue on to Piazza Sulis and start your walking tour of Alghero's Old Town.
Alghero's Old Town
The best way to see this appealing walled town with its distinctly Spanish flavour is on-foot. During the brief walking tour your guide points out Alghero's most notable attractions. Along the way, a visit is made to the Church of San Francesco and its 14th century cloister, centrally located in the Spanish Quarter.
The maze-like narrow lanes and piazzas of Alghero old town protrude out into the Mediterranean from the regular grid of streets that now constitute the modern town. This geographical aspect and the strategic position of Alghero on the North West coast of Sardinia led to the construction of massive sea facing city walls to guard against maritime threats from this direction.
Alghero marina is situated just outside the walls and immediately beyond is the town beach of Alghero also known as the Lido. This long expanse of white sand stretches for 3 miles (4.8 km) to the town of Fertilia and is backed by numerous hotels and apartments.
Following your walking tour, some free time is made available to browse the local shops at your leisure before re-boarding the coach to reach the venue Azienda Agrituristica Ledà d'Ittiri for the wine tasting.
Azienda Agrituristica Leda' d'Ittiri
The estate is located just a short distance away from the frenetic town of Alghero and from wonderful white-sand beaches, at the feet of Monte Doglia, a mountain from whose peak it is possible to admire the bay of Porto Conte and the promontory of Capo Caccia. The estate consists of 18 hectares (44.5 acres) of olive orchards and vineyards that are carefully cultivated by the owners as if they were the garden of their farmhouse.
Antonella and Annamaria are two ladies with an ambitious business project. Together as mother and daughter, they belong to an ancient Sardinian noble household, the only heraldic coat of arms within the Sardinian wine sector. They have become passionate, expert entrepreneurs who are able not only to look after each detail of their business, but also to personally keep up with the issues of the cultivation. The result has come up to their expectations.
Given the favorable location of the estate, the owners have integrated the agricultural activities with a tourist/cultural project, aimed at promoting the area and its products. The business philosophy consists in producing small quantities in favor of a higher quality and in offering a high-level hospitality to those visitors who appreciate the tranquility and the fragrance of the countryside.
Following your wine tasting, re-board the coach for the return drive to the pier in Alghero. En route, pass by the entrance to the Nuraghe Palmavera and learn some interesting facts about the archaeological site from your guide.
Please note: This tour involves a moderate amount of walking for approximately 1 kilometre (.62 miles) over paved and cobblestone surfaces. This tour is not recommended for guests with limited mobility or who utilise a wheelchair. The tour sequence may vary. Guests must be at least 18 years old to be served alcoholic beverages. Minimum age to participate is 6 years old. Wear comfortable clothing and walking shoes and bring a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen.
Experience the splendid beauty of Sardinia during a scenic and memorable visit to the Nuraghe Palmavera archaeological site, the Capo Caccia Belvedere and Alghero's Old Town.
After tendering ashore, board your coach for the scenic drive along the coastal road to Nuraghe Palmavera which is located approximately 6 miles (about 10 kilometres) from town.
Nuraghe Palmavera
From the bus parking area, proceed on foot to the archaeological site. During a walking tour of the premises, your guide explains the history and significance of these remarkable remains dating from the civilization that existed here about 1300-1200 B.C. The main tower is an excellent example of Sardinia's earliest inhabitants, who remain a prehistoric enigma. Ancient writers called them the 'Nuraghic' people, named after their stone dwellings, the 'Nuraghi'. These structures are unique to Sardinia, just as the Aztec pyramids are to Mexico.
Capo Caccia Belvedere
Next your drive continues on to Capo Caccia Belvedere, where a photo stop is made for spectacular panoramic views of the Coral Riviera, or 'Riviera del Corallo'. After the photo stop, re-board the coach for the approximately one-hour drive back to Alghero. Upon arrival, take a walking tour of the Catalan-styled Old Town.
Alghero's Old Town
The best way to see this appealing walled town with its distinctly Spanish-Catalan flavour is on-foot. During your brief walking tour your guide points out Alghero's most notable attractions. Along the way, a visit is made to the Church of San Francesco and its 14th-century cloister, centrally located in the Spanish Quarter.
Following your walking tour, some free time is made available to browse the local shops at your leisure before walking the short distance back to the pier.

The order of the tour may vary. The minimum age to participate is 6 years old. Wear comfortable clothing and flat walking shoes. Bring a hat, sunscreen and sunglasses.
The exquisite beauty of the Sardinian Countryside is yours to discover during this scenic visit to the medieval town of Castelsardo.
After tendering ashore, depart the pier for the scenic, approximately 1.5-hour drive north through the Sardinian countryside to Castelsardo.
Elephant's Rock
En route, a photo stop is made at Elephant's Rock. This strange stone, sculpted by the ever-present winds, resembles an elephant's head and trunk. Presumably, the site was used in ancient times for burial ceremonies. Next, re-board your coach for the drive to Castelsardo.
Castelsardo
This fortified town, founded in the 12th century by the Marine Republic of Genoa, is situated on a promontory overlooking vast panoramas of the Gulf of Asinara to the west and views of the Gallura peaks to the east. The historical centre of this village is built on a tall crag that slopes into the sea, is shaped like an upside-down cone and offers wonderful panoramic views.
The village was founded by the Doria family in the 12th century, and was originally called Castelgenovese. When the Spanish arrived in 1448, it became known as Castel Aragonese. The town's present name was derived in 1769 under the reign of Carlo Emanuele. Today, Castelsardo is a popular tourist destination. Its handicrafts, especially the baskets made from wild palms, are quite famous.
Following your guided walking tour of Castelsardo and a stop at the Weaving Museum inside the old Doria Castle, some free time is made available for you to browse the shops at your leisure before re-boarding your coach for the approximately 1 hour return drive to the pier.
Please note: This tour involves an extensive amount of walking over surfaces that can be bumpy and uneven in spots, and is not recommended for guests with limited mobility and guests who utilise a wheelchair. We recommend you wear light weight clothing and flat walking shoes. Bring a hat, sunscreen and sunglasses. Minimum age to participate is 6 years old.

Upon arrival, begin your guided walking tour along paths lined with beautiful and fragrant Mediterranean maquis. The reserve's valleys and rocky ridges are home to the Sardinian deer, a species protected from extinction. Nora
Continue to the ancient Roman and pre-Roman town of Nora situated on a peninsula near Pula and Cagliari in Sardinia. Nora was an important trading town in its time, with two protected harbours, one on each side of the peninsula. According to legend, Nora was founded by a group of Iberians from Tartessus led by Norax, a mythological hero (the son of Eriteide and the god Hermes). It is believed to be the first town founded in Sardinia and to have been settled by the ancient Sherden or the Nuraghi people, and later colonized by Phoenicians.
The Nora Stone, a Phoenician inscription found at Nora in 1773, has been dated by paleographic methods to between the late 9th century and early 8th century BC, and has been interpreted as referring to a Phoenician military victory and conquest of the area. After a period of domination by Carthage the town came under Roman control after the conquest of Sardinia in 238 BC. It went into decline from the 4th century AD and appears to have been abandoned during the 8th century.
Several different building styles can be seen in the excavated buildings. Visit a promontory in the foreground of a 16th-century tower. From here, view the remains of Carthaginians warehouses, Roman buildings from the time of the Republic, a Carthaginian-Roman temple, large baths with splendid mosaics, a nearly-intact theatre dating from the time of the Empire, and a unique the water supply and drainage system.

Enjoy a tour to Mozia Island located between Trapani to the North and Marsala to the South. The island was formerly known as Motia and San Pantale and lies in the Stagnone Lagoon. Discover the island is rich with archaeological excavations and finds from what was an island city. Make a stop at the Whitaker Museum and view many beautiful relics that are well displayed here. Mozia, or Mothia, was founded at the end of the 8th century B.C. on the island of San Pantaleo, situated at the centre of a large lagoon, known today as Stagnone, or big pond.
Depart the pier area and, from Marsala, situated on Cape Boeo start driving towards the "via del sale" (the salt road) with the famous "Saline" and windmills.
On the way you will have the opportunity of driving through the Stagnone Lagoon - with a very unreal panorama and beautiful colors - and to have a panoramic view of Mozia Island.
Mozia Island

Once on the island your guide will lead you to some of the interesting archaeological points with spectacular view of the Stagnone Lagoon.
Whitaker Museum
Afterwards, make your way to the Whitaker Museum housing several artifacts found in Mozia and in the neighbouring area whose highlight is of course the Ephebus of Motya, the marble statue of a young man from the fifth century BC, found in Mothia in 1976.

Depart the pier for a brief panoramic drive through Trapani, before proceeding on a scenic one hour drive to Selinunte. One of Sicily's great Greek archaeological sites, Selinunte is situated by the sea in the south-western corner of Sicily where the isolated ruins have stood abandoned for most of their history. The lack of later development allows modern visitors to imagine the ancient town of Selinus as it would have been two and a half thousand years ago.
Selinus
Arriving at Selinus, you will discover the remains of a city founded by the Greeks in the mid-7th century. Visit the remnants of three impressive temples that once graced the site. The first is Temple E, dating back to the 5th century BC and rebuilt in 1958. To the right stands Temple F, lying completely in ruins. Archaeologists believed that Temple G was dedicated to Zeus, and was among the largest of its type in the ancient world. Each of its columns weighs several tons. The surrounding rubble gives some indication of its immense size. You will also explore the Acropolis with your guide. It was partially rebuilt in 1925, and was dominated the columns of Temple C (6th century BC).
Re-board the motor coach for a scenic drive back to the pier.
Please note: This tour requires a moderate amount of walking for approximately 1000m (.65 miles) on uneven ground at times. Embrace the Medieval beauty of one of Sicily's most impregnable hilltop fortifications during this half-day journey to Erice. The Walls
Erice's Norman-style influences are reflected in its imposing towers and fortifications. During your walking tour, see the walls that stretch from Porta Spada to Porta Trapani that protect the only side of the hill with no natural defenses. On all other sides, the sheer rock face made the town one of the most impregnable fortresses on the island.
Balio Gardens
Next, proceed for a visit to the English-style Balio Gardens. These delightful gardens were laid out in 1870 by Count Pepoli, and feature a monumental entrance with a double staircase.
Venus Castle
The last stop on your walking tour is the Venus Castle. Built on the site of the original Temple of Venus, the castle offers magnificent panoramic views and the remains of the Venus Temple.

Experience a taste of life on the 'Island of Dreams' during this full-day excursion to Capri. Capri's beguiling combination of fabled beauty and hedonism has charmed Roman emperors, Russian revolutionaries and Hollywood stars for decades. It's the perfect microcosm of Mediterranean appeal - a smooth cocktail of chichi piazzas and cool cafes, Roman ruins and rugged seascapes.
On the southern edge of the Gulf of Naples lies the Isle of Capri, often called the 'Island of Dreams'. Roman emperors Augustus and Tiberius found peace and beauty here, as have the many celebrities who have visited the island. Upon seeing Capri's impressive cliffs and brightly-coloured villas, it's easy to understand the island's universal appeal.

Capri Town
While in Capri Town, feel free to explore the town on your own or follow the guide on the short walk to the Augustus Gardens. Continue on to the Amalfi Paper Museum, located in a 14th century medieval paper-mill and which hosts machineries and instruments used in the ancient paper-mills. The ancient technologies, restored and active, reconstruct the entire production cycle of the paper. Among the century-old tools in the museum it is possible to admire the ancient wooden mauls, operated by a hydraulic wheel; the press used to remove the water in excess from the paper; the continuous printing machine. The museum gives also the opportunity of assisting the handmade paper production and the functioning of the ancient water-mills, moved by the waters of the Canneto torrent.
Then, walk back to Piazza Duomo, dominated by the impressive façade of the St. Andrew Cathedral and have some free time for lunch on your own.
Your tour concludes in the mid-afternoon when you return to Sorrento via Vietri sul Mare and motorway.
Please note that due to local regulations and restrictions, an alternate stop on the Amalfi Coast (Minori, Maiori or Vietri sul Mare) will be made should a parking space not be available in Amalfi.
Please note: This tour involves an extensive amount of walking in Amalfi. Total distance walked is approximately 1 mile (1.6km). Positano is the Coast's most picturesque and photogenic town; with vertiginous houses tumbling down to the sea in a cascade of sun-bleached peach, pink and terracotta colours. No less colourful are its steep streets and steps lined with wisteria-draped hotels, smart restaurants and fashionable boutiques.
Depart the pier and board a private minibus for the scenic, one-hour drive along the spectacular Amalfi Coast to Ravello and Positano. The narrow road winds along the side of rocky seaside cliffs, and offers breath-taking views of the Italian Riviera. Your visit concludes with a stop at Villa Rufolo and the garden that inspired Richard Wagner to develop the magical garden of Kilingsor in the second act of Parsifal
Positano
Upon arrival in Positano, a short walk brings you to the city's main centre. Following a brief introductory tour, continue exploring on your own or browse the designer boutiques, souvenir shops and art galleries found along the main street and some narrow alleys.
Once a small fishing village, Positano is now the star attraction of the entire Amalfi coast. White Moorish-type houses cling dramatically to slopes around a small sheltered bay. Many of the houses can only be reached via steep staircases. A 1.5-hour visit allows you to take in the unique setting and special ambience of Positano. At the appointed time, re-join your guide and walk back to the minibus pick-up point for the drive to your lunch reservation.
San Pietro Hotel
Located a short distance south of Positano, the hotel takes its name from a cliff-side chapel. Entrance to the hotel is by elevator. Here, in this ultimate secluded spot frequented by the most discerning clientele, a three-course lunch awaits you. After lunch, some free time is made available to look around this romantic site and take in the breath-taking vistas.
Leaving the hotel, return to Sorrento via the same stretch of Amalfi Drive. Upon arrival in Sorrento, you may opt to return directly to the pier, or remain in the main centre for independent exploration and return to the ship on a later shuttle (time permitting), or find their own way back at their own expense.
Please note: This tour requires a moderate amount of walking uphill. Positano's main centre is pedestrian-only, and involves downhill and uphill walking over uneven surfaces, with stairs to negotiate. However, additional walking is at guests' discretion during the free time allotted in Positano. Comfortable shoes are recommended.
