Depart by motor coach from the port of Recife and embark on a unique tour to see Recife from the Capibaribe River.
Travel through the streets of Old Recife heading downtown to the "Praça da República" (Republic Square). Stop to take some photos of important sites such as the imposing Governor's Palace, the Justice Hall, St. Isabel Theater and a Baobab tree from the slavery period.
Back on the coach, drive to the catamaran's pier. Divided by rivers and bathed by the ocean, Recife is the city of waters so called the "Brazilian Venice" because of its many bridges and waterways.
Join a Catamaran that will take you along the Capibaribe River and have a different view of the opulent colonial buildings that makes Recife so charming. Your guide will introduce Recife's history as your Catamaran cruises the city's old waterways.
After this relaxing trip, you will disembark at "Praça do Marco Zero" (Mark Zero Square), the most popular square of the city. Depart the pier for the brief drive into Recife and begin your sightseeing tour of the city.
Your tour begins with a stop at the Praça da República for splendid views and photo opportunities of the Governor's Palace, Santa Isabel Theatre and the Justice Palace. Next, a stop is made at Casa da Cultura, a prison that has been transformed into a handicraft market. During your visit, some time is made available to browse the items available for sale.
From here, your drive continues on to the old capital city of Olinda, a UNESCO Natural and Cultural Patrimony of Humanity, and home to grand houses and Colonial churches. Upon arrival, visits are made to the Alto da Sé Church, Belvedera and an outside visit of the Misericordia Church, which offers exquisite views overlooking Olinda and Recife.
After a visit to the São Bento Monastery, return to the pier to reboard the ship.

Visit one of the great natural wonders of the world, Iguassu Falls (spelled Iguazu in Spanish and Iguacu in Portuguese), located in Brazil's Paraná state and on the border with Argentina. Both countries have declared their side of the falls a national park, and views from either side are spectacular and different. The whole area is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. In addition to a magical landscape, the dense forest surrounding the falls is inhabited by over 400 different species of birds. The awesome cataracts are fed from some 30 rivers which climax in an extraordinary spectacle when some 300 separate 'falls' form a horseshoe and thunder over a 2.5-mile- wide precipice in a great, mist-laden torrent. Higher and wider as Niagara, Iguassu never fails to ensure an unforgettable experience.
DAY ONE - Thursday, December 5, 2013 - Recife/Iguassu
Depart the ship and drive for approximately one hour to Recife's airport for a scheduled flight to Foz do Iguassu via a connecting flight in Sao Paulo. Upon arrival at the Iguassu airport, you are met and transferred to the deluxe Das Cataratas Hotel for check-in. The hotel enjoys a unique location inside the Iguassu National Park, only a few steps from the falls. Deluxe rooms allow for partial view of the falls. There is a pool in the beautiful gardens and rooms are air conditioned. A buffet-style dinner is served at the hotel.

DAY TWO - Friday December 6, 2013 - Iguassu Falls
After breakfast, begin with a walking tour of the falls' Brazilian side. From pathways following along the cascades and from observation points you can enjoy nature's magnificent display. A catwalk takes you very close to the bottom of Devil's Throat, where the water's full force is displayed with an earth-shaking noise. The rising mist often culminates in brilliant rainbows. An elevator allows for the most complete panoramic views and photo opportunities from the top. See why it is said that "Argentina has the falls and Brazil has the view".
Return to the hotel and enjoy lunch before driving to the Argentinean side of the falls. En route, there is a Customs' check at the Tancredo Neves Bridge, which crosses the Iguassu River and marks the border between Brazil and Argentina. Proceed along a scenic highway into the Argentinean side of the park. Following a stop at the Visitors' centre, proceed on foot along the Superior Circuit to the up-river cascades. Then board the Ecological Jungle Train to the most impressive observation point of the falls - The Devil's Throat. Here the Iguazú River crashes down almost 262 feet (80 metres), creating an impressive spectacle.
Depart the falls and head back to the Brazilian side, ending at Das Cataratas Hotel. A set-menu dinner is served at the hotel.

DAY THREE - Saturday, December 7, 2013 - Iguassu Falls/Salvador de Bahia
Request an early morning wake-up call and after a light, continental breakfast, your driver will take you to the Foz do Iguassu airport for your early flight to Sao Paulo, where you then connect with your flight to Salvador de Bahia. Upon arrival, you are met and transferred to the ship that awaits your return.
Please note: This Mid-Voyage Land Adventure requires an extensive amount of walking along pathways and footbridges on both the Brazilian and Argentinean sides. It is not suitable for guests with limited mobility or those who utilise a wheelchair. Wear flat and comfortable shoes during the visit of the falls. We recommend wearing lightweight clothing and bringing sunscreen, insect repellent, light raingear and a swimsuit if you want to take a refreshing dip in the hotel's pool. During Macuco Safari boat ride please bring an extra change of clothes and towel (available at hotel´s front desk). Heavy spray can be experienced at some points at the falls. Be sure to protect your camera from getting wet. Expect the weather to be tropical and humid and pack accordingly. Luggage is restricted to one checked piece, maximum weight of 50 lb. or 23 kg. Due to flight schedules, most of Day 1 is spent traveling on planes. Lunch on Day 1 and Day 3 is a combination of food offered during your flight and any additional you wish to purchase at the airport. Private vehicles (taxis, cars, vans and buses) will be denied entry to the Iguaçu National Park, Brazilian side. Only Park's Administration vehicles have access and permission to enter the Park. Therefore, all the tours to the waterfalls on the Brazilian side and transfer to/from the Hotel das Cataratas, located within the National Park will be private outside the park only; guests have to change vehicles at park entrance to one operated by the Park. The tour will continue with the assistance of the guide, but using the vehicles provided by the Park administration and may not be exclusive to Silversea. The guide will always accompany guests on the vehicle provided by the Park Administration. Operation of this overland excursion is subject to a minimum participation.
