Since opening in the iconic Honeysuckle Railway Workshops in 2011, the Museum has blossomed with an extensive exhibition programme and a dynamic range of community events for a diverse audience.
A visit to the Newcastle Museum presents you with the history of the Hunter Region with its fascinating artifacts, as well as learning about the penal colony history.
Continue onto the Blackbutt Reserve to stroll the beautiful grounds and view Australia's native wildlife including kangaroos, wombats, and koalas. Sitting in a tract of bushland with plenty of walking trails and picnic areas, this council-run reserve offers a diverse range of habitats and ecosystems.
Finally, your tour will include a visit to Fort Scratchley for stunning views overlooking the Pacific and free time to explore independently. First known as Signal Hill, an earthen battery was constructed to protect the coastline in the event of an attack. Explore this uniquely interesting historic coastal fortification which dates back to the 1800's.
After your day of exploring and being immersed in history you will be returned to the pier and your ship.

This ATV tour is a hands on and interactive experience offering an insight into the Aboriginal culture while providing the exhilaration of riding a Quad Bike guided by an Aboriginal guide. Stopping atop the high dunes, you are provided with a 360' view of the lands and a verbal presentation of the traditional occupation and uses of the land. Fresh water lagoons and midden sites (tool and burial sites) can be spied from this vantage point.
Stockton Sand Dunes
Depart dockside and transfer by mini bus to receive a safety briefing before getting on your all-terrain quad bike for an exhilarating ride led by your guide. Relish the exclusive access to the largest privately owned sand dunes within the Stockton Bight. You will learn how to unearth the mystery of the Aboriginal midden sites where the remains of stone tools and weapons are found.
On the return drive to the ship stop off at Murrook to spend some time learning about indigenous cultural ways. Murrook's purpose is to gather, sustain, protect and teach Aboriginal Culture to all people with an emphasis on Worimi culture being the land and people of this area.
Your tour concludes at the pier.

Enjoy a relaxing scenic drive by coach from Newcastle to Port Stephens. Upon arrival climb aboard your vessel and head out on the waters of Nelson Bay. This magnificent bay is twice the size of Sydney Harbour and the areas monumental sand dunes are the largest in the Southern Hemisphere.
Water need only be waist-deep to find the bottlenose dolphins fishing. Air-breathing, warm blooded, intelligent and friendly, this fellow mammal is one of the best-loved creatures of the sea. You will be treated to wonderful scenery and enchanting dolphins while enjoying a refreshment of morning tea during the cruise.
Returning to shore enjoy some free time to explore Port Stephens independently at your leisure.

By 1823 some 20 acres of vineyards had already been planted on the northern banks of the river and what is now the Dalwood/Gresford area between Maitland and Singleton. Compare the aromas of top-rated wines and sip award-winning vintages and enjoy a delicious sampling of Hunter Valley cheeses.

Day 1 - Saturday 04th February 2017
Departing Silver Whisper after an early lunch, your group makes its way up to The Hunter Valley. From Mt View, descend into the Hunter Valley and enjoy the first of several wine tastings at a few of the very special boutique wineries in the area. Chat to the owners, admire their cottage locations and let them show off the best of their vintages. Late afternoon, continue on to your accommodation for the next two nights, Chateau Élan at the Vintage, a luxury escape in the heart of the Hunter Valley. Settle in to your room, then a two-course Table d'hote dinner will be served in the hotel restaurant.
You may wish to make time to visit the Spa at your hotel (at your own expense) during your stay.

Day 2 - Sunday 05th February 2017
After a leisurely breakfast, head out for visits to some more wineries as well as to a chocolate shop where you can purchase some local products.
In the foothills of the Broken Back Range, enjoy lunch, featuring a selection of fine local produce and wines before spending the remainder of the afternoon visiting some of the larger vineyards for more superb wine tasting. Later we visit Sabor for an delightful sweet treat before returning to your accommodation.
Dinner will again be served in the hotel restaurant.

Day 3 - Monday 06th February 2017
Departing this morning after breakfast, your group will make its way to the beautiful Hunter Valley Gardens. Spanning over 25 acres, you will be amazed by the sensational sights, colours, and fragrances of the ten stunning feature gardens at Hunter Valley Gardens. Explore the thousands of flowers, trees, and shrubs with discovery at every turn.
Then, enjoy a private cheese tasting before returning back to Sydney where you will enjoy lunch before returning to the Silver Whisper at White Bay.
