Pier Information The ship is scheduled to berth in Milazzo, at the ancient Mylay located half mile from the city center. Taxis are generally available at the landing pier. Shopping The best shopping in Milazzo is along the Via Medici, Corso Umberto I, and along Marina Garibaldi. Good buys include antiques, shoes, clothes and wines. The local currency is the euro. Cuisine Traditional Sicilian specialties include pasta and seafood. For dessert try Sicilian Cassata (cassata siciliana), or the cannolo alla siciliana, both made with ricotta (curd cheese). Sample some of the excellent local red and white wines. Other Sites The Borgo A charming district of the old town which surrounds the Castle area. You will find the San Francesco di Paola Church, 18th century, and the church Madonna del Rosario from where you will enjoy a magnificent view over the west coast. In the city center you will find the Church del Carmine, built in the 17th century. Private arrangements for independent sightseeing may be requested through the Tour Office on board.
