Maranguape and Cachaça Museum
Depart the pier for the scenic, approximately one-hour drive to the Cachaça Museum, located in the charming city of Maranguape. Upon arrival, take a guided walking tour of the museum. Along the way, learn about the history of sugar cane alcohol, brought to the county by the Teles family of Portugal.
Sugar Cane Alcohol Tasting
Following your guided tour, proceed for a tasting of sugar cane alcohol. Afterward, some free time is made available for independent exploration. At the conclusion of your visit, re-board your coach and commence the approximately one-hour drive back to the pier.
Please note: This tour involves a moderate amount of walking, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach and three steps at the museum. This tour is suitable for guests with limited mobility and guests who utilise a wheelchair. Lightweight, comfortable clothing with flat, closed-toe walking shoes and sun protection are recommended. Guests must be at least 12 years old to participate on this tour. Guests must be at least 21 years old to participate in tastings of alcoholic beverages.
Fortaleza is blessed with many spectacular beaches and Cumbuco Beach is no exception. Just 50-minutes drive from the city and attached to a small fishing village, the beach is distinguished by its rolling white sand dunes and empty stretches of sand lined with coconut trees.
Depart the pier by coach for the scenic, approximately 50-minute drive to Cumbuco beach for a few hours of sun-bathing or anything you wish. Upon arrival at the beach, enjoy a complimentary coconut water drink before nestling down in to your piece of this fabulous stretch of beach. This beach is a popular spot for kite surfing, sand boarding and buggy tours - the latter, available for purchase on the spot, involve a hair-raising ride over the bumps and inclines that will leave you giddy and white-knuckled and most likely eager for more!
A more sedate activity available is horse riding, although the most popular activity is of course soaking up the sun on the beach.
At the appointed time, re-join your coach for the return drive to the pier and your awaiting ship.

Depart the pier area by motor coach and tour Fortaleza, the capital city, which has been for decades one of the most popular destinations for tourists with an easy grid pattern. Learn about the history and heritage of Fortaleza and see some of Fortaleza's historical monuments such as the Metropolitan Cathedral, the third largest church in Brazil. Pass by other renowned landmarks including the Jose de Alencar Theater, the Center of Tourism and the Fortress of Nossa Sen hora da Assuncao.
See the English Bridge, popularly known as the Metal Bridge; that has fascinated the population and visitors to Fortaleza over the years. Then drive to the beach of Meireles, one of the many urban beaches in Fortaleza. With its stretch of beach that surrounds the handicraft fair, Meireles is a location popular with locals and tourists alike.
Following this scenic drive, relax and enjoy the approximate 20-minute return ride to the pier.

Experience the thrill of the dunes and the warmth of the sea during this half-day tour to Cumbuco Beach. This beach is well known for its white sand dunes and swaying palm trees.
Depart the pier area and enjoy a scenic coastal drive to Cumbuco beach, located 20 miles (32 kms) from Fortaleza.
Upon arrival at the beach, enjoy a refreshing coconut water drink before embarking on a thrilling buggy ride through the sand dunes and afterwards take some time for a swim in the ocean. You can also take a short sail on a Jangada, (typical boat of the area) or have lunch at the restaurant; both at your own expense.
At the conclusion of the time alloted at the beach, re-join your coach for the return to Fortaleza.
En route, a 20-minute stop will be made at the Tourism Centre for souvenir shopping and a photo stop at the Metal Bridge before arriving at the pier.
Please note: This tour is recommended for guests in good physical condition and it is not suitable for guests with back and/or neck problems, guests with limited mobility and those who utilise a wheelchair. Wear a swimsuit under a cover-up and bring sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses and a towel from the ship. The dune ride will last approximately 50 minutes.
