Pier Information The ship is scheduled to dock at the Redwood Dock in the Samoa terminal. Old Town Eureka is approximately 20 minutes from the pier. Taxis are generally available. Cuisine At Eureka’s famous Fisherman's Wharf, superb seafood is available in both sit-down restaurants and stand-up food stalls. Other Sites Humboldt Bay Harbor Eureka’s 10-mile-long Humboldt Bay was named for the German naturalist Baron Alexander von Humboldt. Humboldt Bay National Wildlife Refuge was established on the edge of the bay’s south jetty to protect the black brant, a small migratory goose and more than 100 other bird species. Clark Memorial Museum The museum was founded in 1960 by Ceclie Clarke, who personally gathered all the collection. Some of the collection includes toys, dolls, glassware, jewelry, pioneer relics, including antique guns and other weaponry. Humboldt Bay Maritime Museum The museum was built in 1852 in a replica of the George McFarlan’s house and opened in 1984. It chronicles the area’s contributions to Pacific seafaring heritage with original photographs, ship models, maritime artifacts, library and a refurbished Coast Guard lifeboat. Redwood Discovery Museum This museum and planetarium located in Bayshore Mall, offers hands-on exhibits in science and technology, art and culture.
