Experience the splendid sights, landmarks and shopping of Capri during this memorable, half-day excursion to Anacapri and Capri Town.
After tendering ashore, meet your guide, walk to the mini-bus station and board a local mini-bus for the scenic drive up to Anacapri. Located at 1,000 feet (305 metres) above sea level, Anacapri is the highest village on the island. Upon arrival at Anacapri's central square, you may opt to take a guided stroll to the 18th-century Villa San Michele. This villa's beautiful, hand-painted majolica tile floor depicts an 18th-century vision of the Garden of Eden.
Alternatively, near the main square, you may opt to board the chair lift for a thrilling ride and breathtaking views of the Bay of Naples en route to the peak of Monte Solaro. During your visit to Anacapri, some free time is also made available for independent shopping and exploration before re-boarding the mini-bus for the drive to Capri Town.
Upon arrival, take a guided walking tour of the main centre, including the Piazzetta, Via Camerelle and the Augustus Gardens, which offers panoramic views of your surroundings and the famous Faraglioni Rocks.
Afterward, some free time is made available to browse the numerous boutiques and souvenir shops at your leisure before meeting your guide and returning to the pier. If you opt to remain in the town centre for additional shopping and exploration, you may obtain a funicular ticket from your guide and return to the ship at your leisure.
Please note: This tour requires an extensive amount of walking for approximately 1.5 miles (about 2.4 kilometres), at times over uneven surfaces, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the minibus and approximately 30 steps at the sites visited. Anacapri and Capri Town are pedestrian-only. Expect crowds and lines at the mini-bus and funicular stations. Some mini-buses are air-cooled. This tour is not suitable for guests with limited mobility and guests who utilise a wheelchair. Lightweight, comfortable clothing, flat, closed-toe walking shoes and sun protection are recommended.
