DAY ONE -Cádiz/Córdoba
Start your adventure in Andalusia with a drive from the pier to Seville. Seville, the capital of Andalusia is a unique, compact and relaxing city with a rich cultural heritage, and has also been a symbol of tolerance between Arabic, Jewish and Christian cultures.
Upon arrival your guide will show you the most interesting sights during a panoramic ride with stop at the amazing Spanish Square. The marvellous architecture, intricate decorations, fragrant gardens and sparkling fountains are sure to make your visit memorable.
The Barrio de Santa Cruz is the old Jewish quarter, with its labyrinth of narrow streets, with wrought-iron-grilled windows, white washed buildings and tiled patios. Here you will be invited for a tapa's lunch at the very cosy restaurant Casa Roman in the very heart of the Jewish Quarter.
Afterwards, you will be taken to the hotel in Cordoba for the check in. Enjoy the rest of the evening at leisure to dive into this lovely town. Dinner will be buffet style which you can enjoy at your leisure or you can meet the group for a set menu dinner at the hotel.
Overnight at Palacio de Balilo (or similar) - Córdoba
DAY TWO -Córdoba/Málaga
Enjoy breakfast before checking out and the exciting visit to Córdoba, the city of Caliphs. Córdoba is a seductive city with many attractive monuments of which the Cathedral/Mosque is the largest one of its kind in Europe.
Christians, Jews and Moorish people were living in Córdoba during many centuries in peace and harmony. The first universities of the whole western world were founded in Córdoba in the 10th century, and, compared with other cities; Córdoba counted with street lighting and paved streets many centuries before London and Paris.
Córdoba must be seen on foot so that as you wander through the narrow streets you can peep into the shady patios where dozens of potted plants and the most colourful, scented flowers engulf you with their sweet aroma.
See the famous "Mezquita", the most powerful Moorish building all over Europe. It comprises a lavish mosque in which a cathedral of Gothic, Baroque and Plateresque elements has been built. It is a fascinating building which offers surprising light and colour effects as well as beautiful doors and nearly a thousand columns. See also the former Jewish quarter with its synagogue.
Continue by coach to Antequera, the easiest way to visit this area is by foot from the Visitor Centre and from here several trails begin. Walk along the green trail for a 0.9mile (1.5km) stroll, enjoy this interesting hour in the park. After a guided walk the journey continues with the drive to Antequera, where you will enjoy lunch at the Parador after a leisure walk through the old town.
After lunch proceed to El Torcal. El Torcal is made up of limestone which was created underwater millions of years ago. The sedimentary layers of rock were pushed upwards by tectonic plate movements. These plates continued to move, causing giant fissures in the rocks. Over the last few million years this Andalucian landscape has been further shaped by wind and rain into spectacular sculptures.
Your overland concludes at the pier where you will join the ship.
