Depart the pier for the scenic, approximately 30-minute drive to St. Claude. At an altitude of 1,739 feet (about 530 metres), St. Claude is the highest city in the Lesser Antilles and offers a fresh perspective on the Caribbean. Upon arrival at the Black River, meet your mountain guides, receive your safety and tour instructions, and begin your fun-filled and exciting canyoning adventure.


Tropical Rainforest Trek, Riverbed, Rappelling, Waterfall, Crystal-Clear Pool, Jumping, Swimming

A site of an exceptional beauty, the Black River and its surrounds were born from a still-active volcano. Take a short, guided hike to the starting point, then discover one of the most beautiful tropical rainforests in the Caribbean. Descend the riverbed, then rappel down for an exhilarating slide into in the crystal-clear pool at the base of a spectacular, approximately 50-foot (about 15-metre) waterfall.


Lunch, Return to Starting Point, Pier Transfer

Following your canyoning and swimming fun, change into dry clothing, then relax with a lunch of sandwiches, energy snacks and mineral water. After lunch, return on-foot to the starting point, re-board your coach and commence the approximately 30-minute drive back to the pier.


Please note: This tour involves an extensive amount of hiking, jumping and sliding for approximately 1.24 miles (about 2.5 kilometres), at times over uneven and natural surfaces and hills, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the bus and 30 steps at the beginning of the tour. Depart the pier for the scenic, approximately one-hour drive to Capesterre-Belle-Eau, located in the south-east of Basse-Terre Island. Upon arrival, head to the National Park and take a guided hiking trek through a portion of its lush, verdant rainforest. Located on the lower slopes of the La Soufriere Volcano, this National Park is a famous spot for hiking.


Second of the Three Carbet Falls, Cascade

Along the way, a stop is made at the second of the three Carbet Falls, a symbol of Guadeloupe Island. This beautiful waterfall features a spectacular cascade measuring more than 361 feet (about 110 metres). Following your rainforest walking trek, re-board your coach and return to Basse-Terre for a visit to the Beauvallon Garden.


Beauvallon Garden, Montbazin House, Tropical Tree and Plant Varieties, Wild Parrots

Located on the property of the former Montbazin House, the approximately five-acre (about two-hectare) Beauvallon Garden is home to rare botanic species from tropical locales, and features more than 80 palm trees varieties, included the talipot. During your visit, see trees that include the baobab, mango, nutmeg and cinnamon, and plants such as orchids, vanilla and others, laid-out harmoniously in this garden. If you are lucky, you may spot the wild parrots that come to eat at this exceptional site. At the conclusion of your visit, re-board your coach and commence the short drive back to the pier.

Please note: This tour involves a minimal amount of walking for approximately 33 yards (about 30 metres), with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach, and embark/disembark the boat and boat ladder. This tour is recommended for guests that are in good physical condition, and can swim in water too deep too stand. This shaded floral garden is rich with Pandanus trees, primary forest, orchids, cacao trees, a palm grove, and spectacular exotic flowers foraged by countless humming birds. Following your visit and refreshments, re-board your coach and commence the approximately one-hour drive back to the pier.


Please note: This tour involves a extensive amount of walking for approximately 0.6 miles (1 km), with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach and a steep exit at the Domaine de Valombreuse. Our Lady Cathedral, Nolivos Street, Indoor Market

During your walking tour, embrace the history and culture of Basse-Terre. Your first stop is at the Our Lady Cathedral, Built in 1736, the Cathedral features a Baroque facade cut into volcanic stone. Afterward, continue on to bustling Nolivos Street, the oldest shopping street, for an opportunity to browse the Indoor Market.


Soufriere Volcano, Bologne Distillery, Rum Tasting

Next, board a local bus and head for a visit to the Bologne Distillery. The Bologne Distillery has been famous for its black cane rum since the 17th century.
