Silversea Luxury Cruises A Sabtang

Sabtang

First visited by Spanish missionaries in 1786, Sabtang is a mixture of traditional culture and Catholic influence, including architecturally distinctive churches. The southernmost island municipality of the Batanes island group, Sabtang is primarily comprised of Sabtang Island, as well as two lesser and uninhabited islands Ivuhos and Dequey. Sabtang Island is known for its signature Itavan houses (ancient stone houses with grass rooftops), as well as its landmark lighthouse. View more

Sabtang also has a few Mission-style churches and white sand beaches, including the beautiful Morong Beach with a picturesque, naturally ocurring arc-shaped cavern. The island is made for nature walks and taking in the unique culture of the Vakul weavers, who produce the traditional head gear for women.
