This full day adventure gives you a sampling of several of the best features that Vanuatu has to offer on a tour that combines stunning scenery, cultural insight, underwater activities and a delicious BBQ.
Your tour begins with a 35-40 minute driver where your knowledgeable guide will provide commentary on the scenery, history and the traditional way of life on this island. After this entertaining drive arrive at the jetty where you will board the ever-popular banana boats for a relaxed and enjoyable 20 minute boat ride to Pele Island. After disembarking your boats you will be greeted by the Island Chief where you will be given a fresh coconut drink.
Following your chiefly welcome, you will have an opportunity to relax on the beach, swim in the water or head out for a snorkeling safari. Subsequent to enjoying your beach-side activities, return to the beach where you will be given a BBQ lunch followed by music provided by local musicians. After this delightful respite, you will be given a brief tour of the local village, where you will be able to get a first-hand glimpse into traditional village life and even have an opportunity to meet some of the local residents.
After this tour, return to the banana boats and then the coach as you head back to the ship.
Please note: This tour requires an extensive amount of activity and involves approximately 3 miles ( 5 kilometre's) of walking. You will be traveling in traditional and rustic, with only some protection from the sun. Expect hot and humid weather; dress in lightweight clothing and bring adequate protection from the sun. Wear a bathing suit under a cover-up and suitable water shoes and bring sun protection and a towel from the ship.
Spend the day exploring the nautral and cultural charms of the island of Efate. Begin with a short walk through the lush rainforest to Larofa Village where you will be greated by a traditional Melanesian warrior. Here a local guide will provide an informative commentary about the traditional customs and way of life in these small villages.
Here you will be able to view the time-honoured art of fire walking and learn of the tradition, sacrifices and preparation men undertake prior to this ritual. Morning tea will be served here.
After this display, conitnue to a refreshing natural swimming hole at Eden on the River. For those that don't want to have a quick dip, you can wander around the luscious tropical gardens. Visit idyllic Secret Beach where you have approximatly 20 minutes to walk the beach, swim or simply take in the beauty of the pristine water that in before you.
Journey on, passing more contemporary villages and catch glimpses of modern village life. Pass by the remnants of the "American forces" involvement in Vanuatu during World War II before arriving at a rustic local restaurant for a freshly packed lunch. Following lunch, continue along picturesque Havana Harbour to the beach used during the filming of "Survivor Vanuatu". On the way back to Port Vila pass Klems Hill Lookout, which provides a superb view over Mele Bay, Hideaway Island and the township in the distance.

Discover one of Port Villa's most glorious sites during this tour to the breath-taking Mele Cascades Waterfall.
Begin your adventure with a short drive from the pier to the beginning of the trail leading to the waterfall. Your knowledgeable nature guide will escort you through the lush and verdant Rainforest on a steady hike. After a 30 minute hike, passing tropical flora, through small streams and over rivers, you will arrive at the glorious Mele Cascades Waterfall. The 164 foot (50 metre) high waterfalls are truly a spectacular sight. Feel free to swim in the naturally eroded pools at the bottom of the falls or simply revel in your natural surroundings. After relaxing in this tropical paradise, it is time to return the way you came.
Please note: This tour requires extensive amounts of activity. Guests must be able to hike up inclines for a prolonged period of time with few breaks. Expect hot and humid weather; dress in lightweight clothing and bring adequate protection from the sun. Footwear may get wet and muddy; wear appropriate shoes/boots. Guests wishing to swim should wear a bathing suit under regular clothing and towels. Please be aware that restroom's at the falls may be rustic.
Spend the day frolicking with the fish from both above and below the water. Your tour begins by boarding a brand new, custom built glass-bottom boat. As you glide over stunning coral reef formations, schools of brilliantly coloured fish and sea-life move to and fro. When you reach the shores off of the boutique resort Island of Iririki Island, you will have the opportunity get in the water and snorkel. Here the aquamarine and sapphire water is home to stunning coral reefs and teams with fish and underwater life. If you don't feel like snorkeling you are more than welcome to feed the fish from the boat, you will soon have a very enthusiastic gathering of tropical fish. After this delightful tropical encounter, your glass-bottom boat will take you back to the port.
