Excursiones en London (Tilbury)

London Panoramic with Free Time

Explore the many renowned landmarks of London during this panoramic, full-day sightseeing excursion via coach and at your leisure.

Tilbury, Docklands, Tower of London, Tower Bridge, St. Paul's Cathedral, River Thames

Depart Tilbury for the scenic, approximately 75-minute drive west towards Central London. En route, pass through the Docklands before reaching the historic Tower of London and one of London's most beautiful sights, the Tower Bridge. After a photo stop here, take a panoramic sightseeing drive through London. Along the way, pass by some of the city's most famous landmarks, including St. Paul's Cathedral and the Embankment. As you look over to the South Bank, see many prestigious buildings lining the River Thames, including the OXO Building, Tate Modern, Royal Festival Hall, National Theatre, and the London Eye.

Parliament Square, Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, Statuary, Westminster Abbey

Next, a photo stop is made at Parliament Square. Upon arrival, marvel at the magnificent Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, and statues of important British and international political figures all around the Square. From the outside, marvel at the immense structure of stunning Westminster Abbey, with its vast flying buttresses and its imposing yet delicate features.

Buckingham Palace, Mall, St. James' Palace, Nelson's Column, Trafalgar Square

Buckingham Palace, the Mall and St James's Palace are all close by, and no visit to London would be complete without seeing Nelson's Column at the centre of Trafalgar Square, home to the National Gallery, St. Martins-in-the-Fields and Canada House.

Free Time, Lunch, Shopping, Sightseeing

Following your sightseeing drive past these and many other important buildings and monuments, some free time is made available in London for lunch and shopping at your own expense, and/or additional exploration. You are dropped off near Covent Garden, an ideal location for some lunch on your own, some great shopping and an easy stroll to many more sightseeing opportunities. At the appointed time, return to your coach and commence the approximately 1.5-hour drive back to the pier.

Please note: This tour involves a moderate amount of walking, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach, and in-and-out of shops and underground stations. Walking in London is at the discretion of each guest. This tour is suitable for guests with limited mobility, but is not wheelchair-accessible. Guests are advised to wear lightweight, comfortable clothing with flat, closed-toe walking shoes, and bring sun protection and a weatherproof jacket or coat from the ship. Guests must be at least 21 years old to be served alcoholic beverages. Photo stops are subject to local traffic conditions.

Panoramic London & Heathrow Transfer

This leisurely half day coach tour is a great way to obtain an overall impression of one of the most lively and interesting cities in the world. A city that welcomes you to its red buses and friendly 'Bobbies', great churches, imposing statues and many elegant pubs.

London and the West End

Commence the tour in the 'City', and then continue to the `West End`, the part of central London west of the City's limits. London would not be London without its captivating `square mile` of old City - the historic and intriguing area around which modern London as we know it has grown and where the medieval and Georgian atmosphere still survives.

Westminster, Whitehall and St. James's

Pass Westminster, Whitehall and St. James's section of London, the coach then crosses Westminster Bridge, and passes by the neo-Gothic Parliament buildings presiding over the banks of the River Thames and its adjacent 320 foot clock tower of Big Ben. From Parliament Square look across to St. Margaret's Church. Standing adjacent is the architectural and masterpiece of the 13th to 16th centuries - Westminster Abbey. It represents a unique pageant of British history as the setting for every Coronation since 1066, and for numerous other Royal occasions. The Guide will point out the main external features of the building and a photo stop is made to take photographs of the outside.

Boarding the coach you will then see Whitehall, passing the end of Downing Street and the Cenotaph war memorial and past Horse Guard's Parade. Afterwards travel along the broad triumphal approach to Buckingham Palace - The Mall which is lined on one side by the delightful St. James's Park, a quiet and relaxed oasis with its flowerbeds and its ducks and pelicans on the lake. James's Palace; still the Court's official headquarters and adjacent Clarence House Clarence House - London home of Prince Charles and Princes William and Harry. Pass the Admiralty Arch which separates courtly London from the hurly burly of Trafalgar Square that stands imposing Nelson's Column.

Afterwards leave the hustle and bustle of central London and head to Heathrow airport to connect with your outbound flight.

Please note: This tour is offered to guests disembarking the ship with flights from London Heathrow International Airport at 3:00pm or later and will end at the airport. It requires a minimal amount of walking. This tour is suitable for guests with limited mobility and those who utilise a wheelchair; however, guests must be able to embark and disembark the coach via the coach steps. Operation is subject to minimum participation. The tour sequence may vary.

Royal Windsor & Heathrow Airport (Tour and Airport Transfer)

Experience the history and grandeur of the world's largest inhabited castle during this memorable, half-day excursion to Windsor Castle.

Windsor Castle

Depart the pier for the scenic, approximate 150-minute drive to Windsor Castle. Originally built as a fortress by William the Conqueror, Windsor Castle is one of three official residences of the Queen and has been home to the Sovereign for over 900 years. From miles away, Windsor Castle can be seen perched on a chalk outcrop overlooking the River Thames, and the charming town and countryside surrounding it.

Windsor Castle Tour and State Apartments

Upon arrival at the coach parking area, pass through security and begin your walking tour of Windsor Castle. Your visit focuses on the castle's two most outstanding features, the State Apartments and St. George's Chapel. Stroll through the immense courtyard of the Lower Ward, which is flanked by St. George's Chapel and leads to the mound and Round Tower. During your visit to the State Apartments, marvel at the painted ceilings, panelled walls, Adam fireplaces, classic furniture, and the priceless paintings and drawings. This magnificent suite of ceremonial rooms is used by the Queen to entertain visiting Heads of State.

Please note: This tour is available to guest's who are disembarking in London (Tilbury) on the 10th September and have a flight from London Heathrow International Airport at 4:00pm or later. The tour ends at the airport. It involves a moderate amount of walking uphill for approximately 400 yards (about 366 metres) from the coach parking area to the castle, with a few steps to negotiate to get on and off the coach, and inclines and cobbled areas at the castle. This tour is not suitable for guests with limited mobility and guests who utilise a wheelchair. Lightweight, comfortable clothing, a light sweater or jacket, flat, closed-toe walking shoes and sun protection are recommended. Windsor Castle can be closed at short notice due to Royal engagements.
