Bonaire's small, tidy capital city (population 3,000) is five minutes from the airport. The main drag, J.A. Abraham Boulevard, turns into Kaya Grandi in the center of town. Along it are most of the island's major stores, boutiques, and restaurants. Across Kaya Grandi, opposite the Littman’s jewelry store, is Kaya L.D. Gerharts, with several small supermarkets, a handful of snack shops, and some of the better restaurants. Walk down the narrow waterfront avenue called Kaya C.E.B. Hellmund, which leads straight to the North and South piers. View more

Capital, North Coast and Goto Lake
Depart the pier for the short drive through the capital of Bonaire, then proceed along the breath-taking northern coast. Along the drive, we recommend to peer out the window to gatch glimpses of fossils embedded in the limestone, huge candelabra cacti, 'divi divi' trees, diverse bird and wildlife species, a former aloe production plant and breath-taking ocean vistas. A photo stop is then made at Goto Lake. One of the most beautiful locales on Bonaire, this natural saltwater lake is a feeding-ground for flamingos.
Rincon Village and Washington National Park
Next, re-board your coach, drive along tree-lined country lanes and pass by Dos Pos, a drinking well for animals, en route to Rincon Village. Upon arrival, hear legendary tales of this 14th-century village. Stop at the Washington National Park. At the entrance, see a full scale juvenile whale skeleton. Visit the natural history plantation museum and the open-air exhibit for a peak into Bonaire's heritage. Relax on the large covered terrace where you can buy cold drinks and snacks.
Coastal Drive, Salt Flats and Slave Huts
Afterward, re-board your coach for a picturesque coastal drive, and take in splendid panoramic vistas of crashing waves and the lush, green hillside. From here, head south for a photo stop at the salt ponds and flats. Learn how salt is produced today on Bonaire, and was mined by slaves in the 17th century. At the Slave Huts, visit the original huts used as shelters by the slaves. Following your visit, re-board your coach and commence the short drive back to the pier via the scenic coast.

Unhurried, unspoiled and unforgettable - this is Bonaire.
Enjoy an off-road trip to Bonaire's Lac Bay National Park & beach. Your trip begins the moment you meet your Safari guide and board the vehicle to explore the sites.
Driving through the Lac Bay National Park your guide will be on the lookout for wildlife sightings and stopping at watering holes to spot flamingos & herons wadding through the mangroves. The mangrove forest of Lac Bay is one of the best preserved mangrove forests in the Caribbean and is home to a rich variety of birds. Donkeys & goats are commonly seen grazing here, and you will have many opportunities to photograph the wildlife.
Stopping at Lac Cai, the natural bay beach is one of the best reasons to visit the park. Pristine & picturesque with fishermen's huts and piles of empty conch seashells along the coast line. Most of Bonaire's beaches consist of rocky coral but Lac Cai is a beautiful sandy beach where you may enjoy a refreshing dip into some of the world's best protected waters.
Your tour continues on paved roads to the South/East side of the island where your guide will be on the lookout for Bonaire's most famous bird, the shy flamingo. With its deep pink-coral feathers and graceful leggy walk, this bird is especially beautiful in the wild.
Next, re-board your vehicle for the return journey to the pier and your awaiting ship.
