Ensenada is the third-largest city in Baja and one of Mexico’s leading seaports. The town stretches along the northern shore of the Bahia de Todos Santos. First discovered by Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo in 1542, he named the place Ensenada-Bahia de Todos Santos (All Saints’ Bay). Since his discovery, farmers settled along the coast and in the mountain region, followed by gold miners in the late 1800s.
