Bowdoin Fjord, just over 12 miles from Qaanaaq village, is in the central west section of Greenland. The rocks that make up the scenery inside the fjord are old marine seabed deposits that are more than 1,000 million years old, and with all the weathering, they have become a ‘painted landscape’ of ochres, olives, russets and mauves.
