Silversea Luxury Cruises A Bodulan Islands

Bodulan Islands

In the far east of Milne Bay Province, the nine Laughlan Islands are essentially an atoll open to the west and form part of the Kula ring (a ceremonial exchange system found in Papua New Guinea). Bodulan, or Bodaluna, is the only inhabited island of this small group, with its village of palm-thatched huts and houses. The Laughlan Islanders are known for their traditional canoes used in trading –both as vehicles to do the trade as well as trading objects themselves. View more

White-breasted Fruit-Doves, Collared Kingfisher, Island Monarchs and Coconut Lorikeets are found on the island, and the enchanting beaches, sandbars and reefs deserve exploration.
