This traditional dance recounts a tale from the Ramayana, an epic story that found its way from India to Indonesia. During the dance, the only musical accompaniment is the chanting by men positioned in a concentric circle on the stage. As the men chant and rhythmically sway to the music, colourfully costumed dancers weave and intertwine their way amongst them. Lit only by glowing torches, the shadows cast by the dancers, combined with the haunting chanting, create a truly mesmerising and unforgettable experience. Upon arrival at Bali Quad Discover, proceed to the restaurant for a refreshment stop, then change your clothing in the changing rooms and assemble at the reception facility of Bali Quad Discovery. Here, receive your safety and riding instructions for your quad bike and buggy car, then familiarise yourself with these vehicles during a ride in the test-drive area. Afterward, begin your guided, off-road adventure.

Bamboo Forests, Rainforests and Plantations

Your route passes through a bamboo forest, rainforest, tropical plantations, small pathways, and bumpy and muddy trails. A stop is made at a quiet hamlet. Here, you can visit a village temple and typical Balinese housing compound with its traditional architecture. Following your visit, re-board your quad bike or buggy car, and continue riding past and through bumpy, muddy trails and the tropical rainforest. A brief refreshment and photo stop is made at a viewpoint overlooking distant rice terraces. A large proportion of woven clothing, or 'ikat', is imported from the islands of Sumba and Flores; the beautiful 'songket' fabrics worn by Balinese dancers are prime examples. Singapadu Village

Balinese House Compound and Batuan Temple

Next, re-board your coach and head to the Balinese House Compound, which consists of five buildings, each with a different function. The wall surrounding it is called 'aling-aling', which means to protect the evil spirit from entering the compound. Following your visit, re-board your coach and continue on to the Batuan Temple. Elephant Ride

Tanah Lot

Leaving Tanah Lot, a 45-minute drive brings you to the Bali Orchid Garden, located near Sanur.

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel this morning. Then, check-out and meet your guide for a full day of exploring this wondrous island.

Admire the scenery as you make your way to the small village of Singapadu to visit a typical Balinese house compound. In contrast to most western style houses, traditional Balinese houses are enclosed by walls to form a compound. Several separate structures are found within the compound.

After lunch, your journey continues with the drive toward the village of Tampak Siring to visit Tirtha Empul Temple, also known as Tampak Siring Temple. Your first destination this morning is the village of Batubulan to observe traditional Balinese dances popularly called Barong and Kris dances. Depicting the eternal fighting between good and evil, this timeless story endures in every culture around the world. Afterward, proceed for a visit to the village of Celuk, known for its gold and silver workshop.

As you leave Celuk village, your journey continues to the small town of Klungkung to visit Kertha Gosa, an ancient Royal Court of Justice. It serves as a reminder of the power and glory of the former Kingdom and dates from the 18th century. The fantastic ceiling murals, in the traditional " wayang " style of painting, depict the punishments in hell for wrong doers, as well as the rewards in heaven for those who are good and honest in their lifetime. It shows a highly evocative view of the Balinese belief in " karmapala " where every action bears fruit, be it good or bad.

Continue on from here to a local restaurant located at the small village of Rendang and its gorgeous scenery of rice terraces. After lunch, proceed toward the slope of Mount Agung to visit Besakih Temple, revered by all Balinese as the " Mother Temple " of Bali. This site originated as a shrine for the worship and pacification of the gods of great Mount Agung, Bali's highest volcano. It has developed over the centuries to its present complex which contains nearly 30 full temples complex.

This spectacular landmark with historic architecture was built in the late 16th century. Leaving Mengwi behind, you'll continue on to Bali's most photographed temple of the edge of the Beratan lake in the mountainous village of Bedugul called Ulun Danu Temple. This Hindu temple is dedicated to the Goddess of the Lake"Dewi Danu." After touring the temple ground, enjoy a short scenic drive before stoping for lunch at a local restaurant.

Relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery, as you are transported to the small village of Batuan to visit one of the gorgeous Balinese Hindu temples namely Pura Puseh or also popularly called Batuan Temple. For over a thousand years, Batuan has been a village of artists and craftsmen, old legends and mysterious tales. You'll find Batuan Temple is beautifully designed with Balinese architecture and antique ornaments including the entrance gate and the roof made from the fiber of the chromatic black palm tree.

After touring the temple ground, re-board your motor coach and enjoy a short scenic drive to the small countryside to visit a local Coffee Plantation. Take a guided walk under shaded pathways to explore the vast coffee plantations and other tropical spices locally grown, before seeing a detailed look into the coffee making process. Drive toward the coastal village of Kusamba to visit Goa Lawah Temple, one of the island's nine special Sad Kahyangan Temples and a holy place to honor the God Maheswara who resides in this section of the island. Situated on a slight embankment the name comes from the thousands of bats that are living inside the cave's interior. DAY 3 - CANDI DASA

Breakfast is provided inside the Alila Manggis Hotel this morning. Afterwards your day begins with a 30 minute drive to the ancient Balinese village of Tenganan. Before the 1970's anthropologist considered the Tenganan village to be one of the most secluded societies in all the archipelago. The people of Tenganan are called Bali Aga or "the original Balinese" as they descended from the pre-Majapahit Kingdom of Pejeng. See how their traditions and rules regarding marriage have guided their community and endured over thousands of years.

Re-board your motor coach and proceed to Tirtha Gangga for lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, your tour continues to the beautiful landscaped Tirtha Gangga Water Palace. A resting place built by the King of Karangasem, the palace is located with picturesque views of the surrounding hill sides and rice-fields. Walk through shaded pathways to take in the series of pools, fountains and the overall charm still withstanding even after a volcano eruption and a major earthquake struck the area in 1979.

Before returning to the hotel, you'll make your way to the last stop at small town of Amlapura to visit Karangasem Palace. Built in 1909 the Ujung Water Palace's architecture and design is a combination of Balinese, European, and even Chinese. You'll find furniture bearing the Royal Crest of England, Chinese wooden paneling and a collection of antiques from Holland, all under the traditional styled Balinese pavilion with a large verandah.

After conclusion of your memorable visit, your motor coach transfers you back to the hotel (approximately an hour drive,) where the remainder of your day is at your leisure.

DAY 4 - BENOA

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before collecting your luggage and checking-out of the hotel. Meet your tour guide in the hotel's lobby and depart for a visit to the village of gold and silver processing center called Celuk. Over half- of the village's population is involved in the silver industry and learn their trade at a very young age.

At the conclusion of your visit, continue with the drive directly to the ship at Benoa Harbor, where the Silversea staff and crew are looking forward to welcoming you aboard. Bon voyage!

DAY 3 - CANDI DASA

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and meet your Tour Guide to depart for a full-day excursion to Central and East Bali.

Drive toward the coastal village of Kusamba to visit Goa Lawah Temple, one of the island's nine special Sad Kahyangan Temples and a holy place to honor the God Maheswara who resides in this section of the island. Situated on a slight embankment the name comes from the thousands of bats that are living inside the cave's interior. Proceed to the village of Ubud. Your delightful journey continues on to the small town of Klungkung, in east Bali, to visit Kertha Gosa: an ancient Royal Court of Justice. Built in the 18th century the stately pavilions, acted as the island's highest court of law and judgment was passed according to traditional law by three Brahmana high priests. Walking through the Royal Court, look up to the ceiling where you can see the "wayang" style of painting depicting the punishments in hell for wrong-does, as well as the rewards in heaven for those who are good and honest in their life.

Lunch is served nearby at a local restaurant. After lunch re-board your motor coach and enjoy a short scenic drive to the small countryside to visit a local Coffee Plantation. Take a guided walk under shaded pathways to explore the vast coffee plantations and other tropical spices locally grown, before seeing a detailed look into the coffee making process. After your tour taste some samples of tea, chocolate and Robusta and Arabica coffee.

The last stop of the day is to the small village of Batuan to visit one of the gorgeous Balinese Hindu temples namely Pura Puseh or also popularly called Batuan Temple. For over a thousand years, Batuan has been a village of artists and craftsmen, old legends and mysterious tales. You'll find Batuan Temple is beautifully designed with Balinese architecture and antique ornaments including the entrance gate and the roof made from the fiber of the chromatic black palm tree.
