Nestled in the midst of a malaria-free reserve of 6,500 hectares, Pumba, with its five star game lodge luxury, offers guests every opportunity to enjoy the essence of an African safari experience. Explore bush and grasslands, looking for the formidable Big 5, plus the endangered and elusive white lion. The reserve covers four of the seven South African vegetation biomes, resulting in an amazing diversity of flora and fauna. Luxury accommodation and fine dining add to the magic of your safari experience.
DAY ONE - Sunday, March 31, 2013 - Richards Bay/Port Elizabeth/Pumba Game Reserve
From the Richards Bay port a three-hour transfer will take you to Durban King Shaka Airport for a scheduled flight to Port Elizabeth. Upon arrival at the Port Elizabeth airport you are met and escorted on the 1.5-hour drive to the enchanting Pumba Private Game Reserve and Safari Lodge. A packed lunch is provided during the transfer. On arrival at Pumba, proceed with check-in formalities and enjoy a brief rest in your deluxe chalet before setting out on a late afternoon game drive in open Land Rovers with an experienced ranger. Be on the lookout for the Big 5, as well as white lion, hippo, hyena, cheetah, giraffe, antelopes and various bird species. The unique vegetation of the Eastern Cape and the dense bushveld environment is also favoured by elephants.
Cap your game drive experience with drinks and snacks in the bush at sundown before returning to the lodge for dinner. Five-star chefs will tempt your palate with an array of gourmet safari cuisine served in the restaurant overlooking the water hole. After dinner, enjoy a night cap around the central fire, recalling the excitement of the earlier game drive.

DAY TWO - Monday, April 1, 2013 - Full Day Pumba Game Experience
Just before sunrise you are woken to take part in an early morning game drive. Nothing quite compares awaking to the sounds of the African bush as the sun rises from the morning mist. It is an ideal time to venture out on a game drive and observe a large variety of wildlife. Return to the lodge for breakfast, after which you have the remainder of the day at leisure. Lunch will be served at the lodge.
In the late afternoon you are taken on another game drive, including drinks and snacks in the bush. Then return to the lodge for dinner.

DAY THREE - Thursday, April 2, 2013 - Pumba Private Game Reserve/East London
Don't miss the opportunity for another early morning game drive. Meet for hot beverages before heading out with the rising sun. End your last game drive with a sumptuous breakfast back at the lodge followed by check out. At mid-morning, depart Pumba together with your local English-speaking guide who will accompany you on your 3.5-hour journey to East London.
Re-join the ship with fond memories of an intimate and thrilling African safari experience.
Please Note: Game drive vehicles traverse over uneven terrain and drives therefore can be bumpy, making the tour unsuitable for guests with back problems. Getting in and out of safari vehicles requires a certain amount of agility and may be a problem for guests with limited mobility. Travelling with carry-on luggage is recommended. This Mid-Voyage Land Adventure brings you close to nature; insects and other environmental exposure should be anticipated. We suggest wearing lightweight clothing, comfortable footwear and bringing sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses as well as a light sweater or jacket for early morning and evening. Remember to bring your camera and binoculars. Unforeseen flight changes may require an adjustment in the tour itinerary. The programme at Pumba Private Game reserve is solely handled by the camp management and arrangements are at their discretion. The Game Reserve lies in a malaria-free area. Pumba Private Game Reserve's Curio Shop does not accept foreign currency and guests need to bring local Rand currency. Participants will miss the call at Durban. Animal sightings are frequent but cannot be guaranteed.

All Land Adventures require a minimum number of participants in order to operate as described. If this minimum number is not met, Silversea reserves the right to offer the programme at a different rate based on private arrangements, or to cancel the specific departure.
