Galápagos Islands for the first time by his father, a captain from the Ecuadorian Merchant Marine and a captain of ships in the Galápagos since 1978. As he was growing up, Xavier had the opportunity to discover the fragility and uniqueness of the remote Galápagos Islands. Soon, Xavier developed a deep love and passion for the archipelago.
Xavier obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Tourism and Hotel Management with a Major in Environmental Studies in Espiritu Santo University, Guayaquil, Ecuador. This helped Xavier to build up a mature outlook in life and to solidify an empirical knowledge based on concepts.
By age 21, he became a Galápagos National Park Naturalist Guide and soon started to work as a freelance guide for several companies in the islands. He truly believes that being a guide is a great way to spread the word to others about the value of wildlife and its conservation.
Xavier loves the ocean and takes every opportunity to go snorkeling, and show the richness and beauty of the Galápagos waters to his guests. He also enjoys underwater photography and filming.
