Throughout the world, there are hundreds of varieties of cheese, and Tom Badcock knows them all. As one of Britain’s foremost cheese specialists, Tom’s depth of knowledge is unparalleled, and as a lecturer on his favourite subject, he provides an eccentric and entertaining programme.
Tom was raised on a farm in Warwickshire in the West Midlands region of England, which is where he learned how to hand milk goats and make cheese. It therefore seemed only natural to study dairy technology, which he did at college. He then travelled halfway across the world to Australia to help set up Australian Cheesemakers.
Since returning to England and settling in London, Tom supplies fine cheeses to top Michelin chefs and the finest hotels of London. He has, for many years, lectured students on cheeses and food history at the United Kingdom’s top catering colleges, including Le Cordon Bleu and Leiths School of Food and Wine.
