Growing up in the Blue Mountains in NSW Australia, Kate’s love and interest for the outdoors was inevitable, spending most of her time exploring her surrounding landscape. After studying Business Management, her passion for travel and thirst for knowledge took her on a new adventure as she set off on her “walkabout” in 2005 to work on an Island off the Capricorn Coast of Australia in a small resort on Great Keppel Island. She used all of her free time hiking and exploring the surrounding ocean while also gaining experience in tourism and hospitality. After spending time on the island she moved to New Zealand and took advantage of the mountain scape, hiking and camping around the South Island.
After moving back to Australia in 2008, Kate began working for Silversea Cruises and grew even more eager to explore the world before being transferred to the London office and spending time travelling over Europe.
In early August 2012, Kate began working on the Silver Explorer as she set sail on her first expedition from Norway down through the British Isles. With the knowledge of the Silversea fleet and enthusiasm to begin her new life, Kate officially joined the expedition team as Staff Assistant, recently spending time in Antarctica, Arctic, Greenland, Iceland, Africa, South America, Ireland, Scotland and Canada. She is always excited at what the new day will bring in further exploration and continued adventure.
