David Shaw is a wildlife biologist, writer, and photographer based out of Fairbanks, Alaska. He has a masters degree in Wildlife Biology from the University of Alaska Fairbanks where he (somewhat ironically) studied the migration of songbirds through the tropical rain forests of southern Veracruz, Mexico. Dave’s photography and writing have been published in dozens of magazines and advertisements across the world. He has a passion for the world’s wild places and wild things, and loves sharing that passion with others. At home in Alaska, you are likely to find him paddling wild rivers in the Brook’s Range, racing his bikes (summer or winter), or waiting for the perfect light with his camera. You’ll recognize him because he always has a pair of binoculars slung around his neck.
