Born in Toronto Ontario, Canada, Chris split his days between school in the city, working on the family farm north of Toronto, and a family cabin on the eastern shores of Georgian Bay. These combined experiences led him to develop a keen interest in his natural surroundings and the ability to adapt to a variety of diverse situations.
A career at sea was the last thing he would have thought of while growing up in Ontario, but it was exactly this opportunity that allowed him to wake every morning to a job he absolutely loves – and excels at.
Chris has spent several seasons as a General Naturalist in such remote and fascinating places as Svalbard, Greenland, Norway, Scotland, the Canadian Arctic and Antarctica. Among all the destinations he has visited across the globe, Chris highly recommends a Silversea cruise to Egypt, Svalbard, South Georgia, Antarctica and anywhere in Canada of course!
