Silversea Reveals The Majesty And Splendor Of Northern Europe On 19 Cruises This Summer

Acclaimed Guest Speakers, New Shore Tours and Inventive Land Programs Offer Enriching Cultural Explorations

(Ft. Lauderdale, FL -- May 3, 2007) This summer guests aboard Silversea's intimate Silver Wind and Silver Shadow will have the unique privilege of exploring Northern Europe and the Baltic in award-winning luxury on 19 different itineraries of six to 15 days -- enjoying the small ship freedom to visit the region's less-traveled, more intriguing destinations.

With ships specifically designed to navigate narrow waterways and channels, Silversea offers an irresistible Northern Europe program that includes the possibility to journey up the Gironde River to uncork the fine wines of Bordeaux; sail under the Tower Bridge into the heart of London; travel up the Neva River to call in the center of St. Petersburg; or cruise into Norway's narrowest nooks.

"These itineraries are crafted to appeal to the more discriminating luxury traveler, offering the most intimate, in-depth view of the region's cultural and historic treasures," said David Morris, Silversea's executive vice president of worldwide sales and marketing. "Guests on these voyages will enjoy engaging enrichment presentations complemented by shore tours and land programs carefully designed to create a meaningful connection to the people, places and cultures visited."

The Northern Europe and Baltic voyages will showcase a diverse enrichment program of noted scholars, writers, and other experts selected from a variety of fields to share their passion, knowledge and insider views for the entertainment and edification of Silversea's guests. A small sampling includes:

-- For the art aficionado, Stephen Lash, chairman of Christie's North America, will host Silver Wind's July 23 Copenhagen-to-Copenhagen voyage, offering a series of expert talks on collecting art at auction, the art of Gustav Klimt, and Art Deco ocean liners. Early Booking Incentive fares for this 14-day voyage (#2722) start at $10,076 per person.

-- For the world observer, Ken Auletta, author of ten books, including four national bestsellers, will host Silver Shadow's August 4 Stockholm-to-Copenhagen cruise. Auletta has written Annals of Communications columns and profiles for The New Yorker magazine since 1992. Early Booking Incentive fares for this 7-day voyage (#3719) start at $5,485 per person.

-- For the gourmet, on August 11, Silver Shadow's Copenhagen-to-Stockholm cruise welcomes Relais & Châteaux chef Jean Paul Bondoux from La Bourgogne, Punta del Este, Uruguay and Restaurant Jean-Paul Bondoux, Buenos Aires, Argentina. A son of Burgundy, Bondoux believes that tastes and flavors must remain distinct and pure to be true to the culture. Early Booking Incentive fares for this 7-day voyage (#3720) start at $5,485 per person.

-- For the cultural connoisseur, historian Alastair Bruce, a direct descendant of Robert the Bruce, will be on hand for Silver Wind's August 21 London-to-London cruise to discuss Scottish history, ceremoniously "address the Haggis" in formal kilt with sword, and offer a single malt tasting with whisky expert Gordon Bell. Early Booking Incentive fares for this 10-day voyage (#2724) start at $8,095 per person.

EXCITING NEW SHORE EXCURSIONS

Silversea's Northern Europe voyages showcase nearly 60 destinations with more than 230 optional shore excursions designed to appeal to a variety of interests -- from the art aficionado, gourmand or history enthusiast to the active adventurer. Following is a sampling of new optional tours:

** From Amsterdam, journey to the Spyker Car Factory in Zeewolde to enjoy a welcoming glass of champagne and introduction to the fascinating history of the Spyker brand. In 1898, the company built its first motorcar and eventually went on to develop fighter aircraft and race cars. During this half-day excursion, guests will have a chance to witness the assembly process and get a close-up look at finished models.

** From Lulea, Sweden, the half-day "Torne River Ice Experience by Helicopter" offers the opportunity to travel to the village of Jukkasjarvi, 120 miles within the Arctic Circle, to discover the magic of ice. Home of the famous Ice Hotel during winter months, this summer Silversea guests can view an ice exhibition celebrating the 300th anniversary of the birth of Swedish natural scientist Carl Linnaeus. In the exhibition hall, cooled to 23 degrees Fahrenheit (-5C), guests will view a world of art created from ice taken from the Torne River, and enjoy a shot of vodka served in an ice goblet.

** From Bordeaux, "A Taste of Cognac" is a full-day culinary journey through the most prestigious wine-producing region in the world. Sample the delights of the medieval town of Cognac and visit the famous Hennessy Distillery. After exploring the distillery, a panoramic drive takes guests to Château de Mirambeau to enjoy a sumptuous four-course luncheon with wine.

** From St. Petersburg, a three-day, two-night overland adventure offers the chance to experience the incredible thrill of flying near the stratospheric border at supersonic speed during a one-hour flight aboard a MiG-31 Foxhound, Russia's most advanced high-altitude interceptor aircraft. While the adventure begins in Moscow, the actual jet flight takes place several hours away in the historic Russian town of Nizhny Novgorod.

ENRICHING PRE- AND POST-CRUISE LAND EXTENSIONS

Guests can extend their Northern Europe voyage with optional pre- and post-cruise land programs featuring deluxe accommodations, all transportation, transfers, guided sightseeing and some meals. Prices start from $2,540 per guest for three-night programs. Highlights include:
