Silversea Sets New Single-Day Record For Calls
Bookings Soar in May
(3 June 2009) Silversea Cruises today announced it achieved the highest call volume day in its 15-year history on 26 May 2009. The single-day record occurred during a three-week period where bookings surged nearly 150% compared to the same period last year and average call volume for May was up almost 40% in comparison with April 2009.
Steve Tucker, Silversea's Vice President of Field Sales for North America, said: "This past month we saw continual spikes in booking activity that far exceeded our expectations and shows we are making excellent headway in boosting our sales. The company is currently offering 50% savings on all suite categories on over 50 worldwide voyages and recently expanded its popular US$1,000 Onboard Spending Credit offer to 70 sailings in 2009. Free or specially priced airfare is also available on select voyages.
For example, the $1,000 Onboard Spending Credit is available on Silver Whisper's 12 September, 7-day cruise (#4928) from Istanbul to Athens with calls in Marmaris, Symi, Volos and Nafplion. Silver Sailing fares start at $3,497 per person -- a savings of 50% -- plus free or reduced roundtrip economy air transportation (including transfer on day of embarkation/disembarkation) is also available from select US and Canadian gateway cities.
In addition, the booking deadline has been extended to 31 July 2009 to qualify for the $500 per person (or maximum $1,000 per suite) Onboard Spending Credit. To take advantage of the offer, which is applicable to new bookings only, the guest or travel agent must request promotional code WWSBC500 at the time of booking.
