Linda Ferreri, Art Historian and Author
Linda Ferreri is both an art historian and a lawyer. Widely travelled in the Mediterranean, she is a graduate of Duke University and New York University's Institute of Fine Arts where she studied Greek and Roman art history. Later entering the legal profession, she served for several years as general counsel of The J. Paul Getty Trust in Los Angeles and subsequently as vice president and general counsel of Christie's in New York.
Linda now lives in Asheville, North Carolina, where she practices law and writes. She teaches at the University of North Carolina, Asheville and, in the summer, at St. John's University Law School in Rome. She has served on the United States negotiating team for the multilateral treaty on stolen and smuggled cultural property and as a consultant for UNESCO, founder of the World Heritage Sites. The author of two books and many articles, she has taught art history and art law and lectured widely on sea and land. Her novel, One Sacred Crown, was published in October 2009.
