Steven Okulewicz, Geologist

Steven Okulewicz is a Professor of Geology at Hofstra University.  He has lectured extensively on the volcanoes of the Hawaiian Islands, the eruptions of Mounts Vesuvius and Etna in Italy, the origins of volcanoes and coral reefs of the Caribbean Islands, and the origins of glaciers in Alaska.

The author of more than 45 geological publications, 3 geology books and various training manuals for the US Environmental Protection Agency, Professor Okulewicz is in demand to give talks on various geological topics at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City, the Morris Museum in New Jersey, the Staten Island Institute in New York, and the  Bruce Museum of Arts & Science in Connecticut.  He has just finished writing a college textbook on oceanography.

A certified professional geologist, a licensed professional geologist, and a member of the Geological Society of America and the American Institute of Professional Geologists, Professor Okulewicz received his degrees from the College of Staten Island and Brooklyn College.
