Maurice Dodson, Major General NZ Army (Retd.)
Maurice Dodson is a New Zealander who received his military education at the Royal Military College, Duntroon, Australia. He graduatedinto the New Zealand Infantry in 1965and served as a Platoon Commander with NZ Infantry in Malaysia and in Vietnam. In Vietnam he was awarded the Military Cross for gallantry.
Other appointments he held included a three year attachment to theMalaysian Army as a tactics instructor; Commanding Officer of a New Zealand Infantry Battalion; Commandant of the New Zealand Officer Cadet School; Deputy Commander of the New Zealand Force based in Singapore; and the New Zealand Defence Adviser Malaysia. He also commanded the New Zealand Army’s Support Command and was the Assistant Chief Resources, HQ NZ Defence Force.
From 1998 until his retirement in 2002 he was the Chief of General Staff NZ Army.
He is a graduate ofMassey University, NZ (Bachelor of Business Studies), and is a graduate of the Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program.
